| I don't think this song has anything to do with death, I think its about him being in a relationship and this person changed from what she used to be to something different(hence the 'death' references), him passing the gates I think is a reference to moving on. The second pre-chorus "Through all those complex years..." is him saying that he wished he would have opened his eyes and started realizing what was happenning a whole lot sooner. The 'reverend' is someone thats a close friend/family member or even god(don't know the religious side of Pantera and dont care to know). Although, just like these kind of pains, the song ends up with him angry toward her and the whole thing. Creeping Death, you need to learn how to comprehend the difference between a figure of speech and the real thing. To all you lousy fucks that diss on Dimebag, thats probabaly because you listen to shitty nu-metal, death metal, or punk, and don't know what good music is, or either youre jealous because he was way better than you are at playing guitar, RIP Dime. | |

Ok, I'm so fucking tired of hearing people say "this song is about heroin", so here is my interpretation of the song, and it makes total sense. Firstly, it is about his friends or his significant other, I beliveve it is more toward the second one but it could be either. "Everytime I'm falling down all alone I fall to pieces" Without this person, he falls to pieces, simple. "Will I find you? Can I find you?" Why would he be nothing without heroin? Why would he want to find heroin!? Well I'm done. |

Its awesome. Its just a song about the ups and downs of life;how things change. Reminds me of an old girlfriend, too. I can relate to this song, because so much of this song reminds me of me, like this... You guys dont understand the meaning of the song at all, you see, he may be talking about God, but I think he is talking about this: Being with one person for awhile and having to leave and coming back(Hello my friend we meet again, its been awhile where should we begin, feels like forever...) and being in love/loving this one person(In my heart are memories, of perfect love that you gave to me, oh I remember...", and feeling great while youre around this one person. The reason I know this is because I'm going through that right now (fience), because she lives in Boston, and this is the first time we've met, we have been together for a year and a half, and she has to go back day after tomorrow, and who knows when we'll see each other again. Sorry I'm going into too much detail, I just have one thing to say... The past 3 days have been the best days of my life. I hope that helps. |
