I definitely agree with the Chron's Disease comment. This song is Daryl, on the brink of becoming an Atheist, as a 'final' message to God. After not being answered for being damned with Chron's, he basically tells God that he's got a fucked up sence of humor and gives God a sarcastic "Thanks, Buddy." It's so obvious that God has to agree about his humor.
That's what I like about Head Automatica's sound and Daryl's lyrics on this album, the music is so poppy but the lyrics are so grim. Pretty awesome combo IMO, good stuff. |

i think the song is about how these two kids grew up together and how the singers friend betrayed him by sellin him out. i think the last part of the song is that frind that betrayed the singer. he killed himself for the shit he'd done. too bad people dont know about etc. they are awesome |

i thnk the song is about the singer dealing with his problems, or not dealing with them. he turnd to drinking and drugs to make him feel better. then he wonders why he try so hard, but its just an excuse to do that shit |

ok so i think it does have to do with a date like juneofglass said.. the sisters death... the last 4 lines of the song back it up too.
I avoid the setting of the sun - he has dealt with death already and doesnt want to see the day die. (setting sun = death of day and birth of night)
Memories fade as you did once before - he cant remember anything in the past except her death.
Stole hope from right under my eyes - the singer is emotionally devistated and hope no longer esists.
Accomplice of my death - when she died, in a way he died too because they were so close to each other. |

daryl sings "She shouts, "The most incessant, the most deplete"
She said, "Show me conscience with nothing to eat"
She said, "Null the worm"
Let's sober up
Caught in time with the fizz of the burn
And so we burn"
nate sings the other half. how can you not be able to tell them apart? daryl screams his head off for the whole 5 minutes ans 43 seconds! oh and to settle the genre thing... finch, like glassjaw, are called 'screamo.' check out guitar world on it |
