From what I've been told, this song isn't a hate for Moscow, but actually an admiration for the city. Yes, he compares it to a prostitute, but he feels that Moscow is his prostitute and that no matter how ugly "she looks" she's still beautiful to him. Like he keeps going back to Moscow for more. I could go on more, but really, I just don't feel like explaining anymore. |

There are only a few songs that can submit such radical emotions from someone. For me, this is one of those songs. One moment I can be happy and like "prodigal sunscreen" stated, this could be one of the best makeout songs ever. In another moment, this can be one of the most beautiful and peaceful songs you can listen to. If a song can stir up memories and emotions within you, than you know it is a good song. |

I've heard something totally different. I was told that the song was about an astronaut from the USSR, who was launched into space, and well, somehow circuits screwed up, "your circuit's dead, there's something wrong?" And the guys in the Soviet Union told him that basically he wouldn't survive because there was no way he would get back to earth...but fate took a play and he somehow got back in the atmosphere and was coming down to earth. He was then notified that he had to get out before the spaceship crashed and while everyone watched this exciting event, he tried pulling the latch on his parachute and it broke, and well, he ended up dying.
But umm...wow...it's totally different from what you guys heard lol. |
