I don't know if anyone else got this from the song, and I'm not saying I know it's what it's supposed to mean; and I hate to put the whole Masturbation spin on it but here it goes. One night I was sitting in my room staring at the walls, I had been up all damn night long like the song says and was thinking about a certain girl all while I listened to Kerplunk. I began to think about how what was happening, sounded like the song was narrating what I was going through at the time. I began to laugh and breath hard (which also kind of sounded like the song), I grabbed myself kind of self-mockingly and sang "She holds my Malakite so tight so... Never let go". Therefore I feel (and I'm probably wrong) that most of what you guys said is true, except that while he was thinking of that special girl he was probably Masturbating while imagining it was actually her. By the way I can also relate to the whole it just being a girl that's out of my league and I could never muster up the courage to tell her how I feel. |
