I agree totally with dhaval...I knew this song was about religion...but I never really knew what the lyrics were.... but after reading them and listening to the song..he has definite passion in his voice sort of a mad passion...and the words are describing how the church really is...(not a discussion on how people interpret the bible, but a interpretation of one person) and how you need the church...you are weak and can't think on your own..."out to sea with no one to save you" He's perceiving the views and thoughts of a preacher but using his own angry views of how the church is, read the lyrics, hear the anger in his voice. peace krista |

to people who keep referencing drinking and drugs to this song...OPEN YOUR MIND....drinking is only a small part of the meaning to this song....when he talks about Jesus and Mary...that obviously has nothing to do with getting drunk... religion is a huge part of this song (obviously) " I will work to elevate you" someone up there said that's an obvious drug reference: anything can elevate you to bring you down...ex: he could be talking about religion, money, happiness, failed relationship, himself...it could be about anything...JUST open your mind... |

I think this song is more about death...."tuned out" and the "waiting locked out" reference means someone he loves shut him out and then killed himself in the ocean (drowned himself) and given to fly means he gave into death and after he died he saying "he still gets his love" and he just gives it away" sounds like he's in heaven and still loves that person and "seen in a strange spot in the sky...given into fly" reference obvious it's about death |
