| Ministry – Bad Blood Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| This is the song that brought me into Ministry. Heard it on The Matrix soundtrack album, and I've been into them ever since. | |
| Rage Against the Machine – Killing In The Name Lyrics | 22 years ago |

Another reason Communism couldn't work is because people will always tend towards a hierachy. people tend to come in three groups: those who need to be led, those who lead, and the "anarchits" (don' wnat to be lead or to lead, just wnat to do their own thing). The chacesof every nation on earth wanting to become socalist is slim nough as it is, becomming communist is even harder, and the chances of everybody becoming 'anarchists' (can't be arsed to apply the poper labes here people, heh heh) is about zero. Personally, i think the biggest chance of the world becomming communist is if a strong imperialist nation (China, Colonial Britain/Japan etc) coquers the world and spontaneousy decides "Right, we'e all Communist." Drawback is a centralised, poweful military would be needed to stop any uprisings to claim the gap what the government had left, which what happened a LOT in soviet russia, leading to the hugely millitaristic state complete with despot. And people say politics is boring. War is jut politics with warmies, and Asassination with knives, poison, bombs, and sniper rifles. |

| Placebo – My Sweet Prince Lyrics | 22 years ago |
|
"Chasing the dragon" is opium, and i think Prince Opium is one of it's nick names... but opium and heroine are really closely related. Heh... diamorphine is pretty much pure opium, and when my friend was in hospital, he was doped up to the eyeballs with Dia-M for over 2 weeks. I'm surprised he didn't come out with withdrawel syndrome. heh heh heh. |

| Disturbed – Stupify Lyrics | 22 years ago |

*ahem* I just noticed something: "Look in my face, step in my soul" The lyrics are, as written in the CD booklet thingy: "Look in my face, stare in my soul" Just thought I'd mention it. |

| Disturbed – Stupify Lyrics | 22 years ago |

It was this song that first got me listening to Disturbed (i downloaded an Animé Music Video tribute to Mirai no Trunks (DBZ) and this song was the music), and I havn't looked back. It's my favourite Disturbed song. I don't really go into this "looking for meanings" thing. It made English Literature lessons suck at highschool (looking for the writing between the lines spoils a good read, in my opinion) and It's the same in some songs too, especially in Disturbed's. David Draiman is such a great poet, and he makes the TRUE meanings very obscure. More often than not, poets leave it up to the readers (or in this case, listeners) to decide what the meaning of the song is. In that case, there is no right or wrong meaning - there is just what the meaning is to yourself. |

| Tenacious D – Fuck Her Gently Lyrics | 22 years ago |
|
I spent many decades studying the song for it's depth, and i came to the conclussion that the song was a metaphore for becomming one with god... but now after reading 'A Fire Inside's meaing, I feel so wronged! Of COURSE it's about fucking, how could I be so blinded?! Why must life make a mockery of me? why? Why?! WHY?! *goes off and commits suicide* |

| Metallica – Master of Puppets Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I think the first person persepctive in this (the "I"s and "me"s) switches between the dealer and the drug itself. I've always seen "The Master Of Puppets" being the drug dealer himself, and puppets being the addicts. | |
| Metallica – Fuel Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Well the video itself is about fast cars, street racing and such... and I can't think of a metallica music vid that hasn't been about the song's meaning. Tell me if you can though, I'm always willing to learn more about my favourite bands. | |
| Metallica – The Memory Remains (feat. Marianne Faithfull) Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
I agree what's said here, except for the thing with the 6 year olds at metallica T-shirts. It kinda makes me cringe, I'm not sure why. I guess I've always seen heavy metal and just the alt. music scene in general as a more mature music catagory, y'know? The lyrics are generally too deep for a younger person to understand and appreciate fully. But at least the kid's not into his garage hip-hop and happy hardcore "tunes"/"noise" |

| Metallica – Wasting My Hate Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| to me, the song's about patronising people making you feel bad about yourself. I just seem to get that image. This is one of my favourite Metallica songs, and it was one of the very first things i learned to play when I bought my gutar. | |
| Metallica – Hero of the Day Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
I agree with an ealier statement - it's just a song that can have so many different meanings. The song itself is so deep and beautiful. The guitar riffs and melodies go straight to the soul, and Hetfield's voice is almost haunting. But i kinda dissagree about S&M though... I thought every other song from the concert was better than the studio-version, except for this song. It kinda felt out of place. Don't get me wrong, HotD is one of my all time faourite songs, but I don't think the S&M version was as good as the Studio version. Wasting My Hate would have been a better song to put in S&M, rather than this one, I feel. But please, no arguments. It's just my opinion, please respect it. |

| Metallica – Battery Lyrics | 23 years ago |

I loved the S&M version of this song, the melodic, almost hispanic, introduction and then into the powerful super-fast guitar rhythms. James Hetfield will kill me if he reads this, but Battery reminds me of Slayer. lol. |
|
| Metallica – -Human Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
It's an S&M origional. Of COURSE it's great. I wish I could have been at San Fransisco to hear it played live. For some reason i love the intro the best. For some reason it reminds me of Soviet Russia, with the anvil-like percussion at the start. |

| Disturbed – Droppin' Plates Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I just think it's a really cool song. When i first heard it I thought "hmm... it's a bit Nu-Metally for my liking", but the song has really grown on me. I wouldn't say it's one of my favourite songs though. | |
| Disturbed – Down with the Sickness Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
heh, i'm not going to go into a really deep sort of "hmm, this song is about such and such". instead, i'm going to go into something COMPLETELY different. How many of you are familiar with the animé Dragonball Z? Some of you? Good. Have you noticed then that the song kinda reflects the Gohan/Perfect Cell battle? I'll expand using the lyrics. "Drowning deep in my sea of Loathing Broken your servent I kneel. (Will you give it to me?)" Cell is torturing Gohan, trying to unleash this "hidden power" of his. ("Will you give it to me?" is Cell asking Gohan to give him all he has) "It seems what's left of my human side Is slowly changing... in me" Gohan feels his control slipping away as his Saiya-jin instincts start to build up in him - his humanity is slipping away and bing replaced by normally dormant brutal Saiya-jin within hin. "Looking at my own reflection When suddenly it changes Violently it changes." Gohan finally snaps, and goes Super Saiya-jin 2 "There's no turning back now You've opened up the demon In me." "the demon" is gohan's hidden power, and since now Gohan is vastly more powerful than anybody els eon the planet, there's nothing that Cell can do to stop him (thus: there's no turning back now, I'm going to kill you) We'll skip the chorus and go to: "I can see inside you, The sicknes sis rising Don't try and deny what you feel." After Gohan detsroys the Cell Jrs, Cell starts to grow afraid and Gohan senses this. "It seems that all that was good has died and is decaying in me." Gohan noticably becomes more evil, ruthless and arrogant when he goes SSJ2. He's definitly not the innocent child form the earlier sagas anymore. "It seems like you're having some trouble In dealing with these changes Living with these changes" Cell is being beaten into the ground by the new Gohan. "The world is a scary place Now that you've woken up the demon In me." Cell is going to die, and he's terrified. Just something to think about ^_^ (PS, don't say "DBZ sucks ass" or anything. I was just wondering if people who DO watch it also noticed.) But anyway, I go out ona friday night to a club that plays a really good selection of heavy metal (and Desturbed are no way Nu-Metal), and this song is played at least twice a night, and the floor is covered everytime in several very large mosh pits with hair flying everywhere. To me personally, this song reminds me of the great times i have at friday nights with my friends at that club. |

| AC/DC – You Shook Me All Night Long Lyrics | 23 years ago |

Wanna know the best thing about this song? The video! It was shot in my native city - Newcastle Upon Tyne (That's in england for all you foreigners :op ) and you get a great view of the city when Jonna goes to the Fish & Chip van on the hill. It's changed a lot since then though, for the better I think. But this song is definitly one of their greatest. |

| AC/DC – The Jack Lyrics | 23 years ago |

This song is about gonhorreah... gonerrea... uh... yeah. That. Origionally it was "She's got the clap." There's an origional smutty-version around somewhere, I think it's on the "If you want blood, you got it" album. |

It's just Bon Scott shwing his sense of humour more than anything else. What a guy! But, the eternal question is... what the hell is "Smoltz" ? |
|
| AC/DC – Highway To Hell Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
It was written by Angus Young. They had a REALLY hard time touring in America for the first time, and Angus really hated it, because of all the satanism crap that was being said about them. Several states even tried to ban them form playing, but AC/DC's lawyers told them that it was illegal, so AC/DC took the states to court and won the battle to play, but the states wouldn't let them stay in any of the hotels in the state, which is legal, so the abnd had to stay in a hotel outside state limits, and then drive to the gig where they got jostled by the crazy uber-religious people. Angus labled the drive to the gigs the "Highway to hell." |

| AC/DC – Hells Bells Lyrics | 23 years ago |

Bon wrote this song. It was one of the two or three he wrote for the next AC/DC album before he died. I think it's just a song, it has no inplicit meaning. |
|
| AC/DC – Whole Lotta Rosie Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
The song was based on a true story... After a gig in tazmania, Bon Scott was abducted by Rosie (her real name) and dragged back to her place, where she skrewed his brains out all night. The next day, he returned to the lads, telling them about the most amazing sex he had ever had in his LIFE. And this is Bon "Two Different Girl Every Night" Scott we're talking about here! The next year, when AC/DC were back on tour in Tazmania, Bon went looking for Rosie again. When he found her, she had lost a lot of weight, and he said it just wasn't the same. |

| AC/DC – For Those About to Rock (We Salute You) Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| This is one of the few AC/DC songs that aren't about sex. It's also a really great song to start of a playlist of AC/DC because it starts of relaxing and melodic, then builds up to a crescendo of pure noise. then you're ready for just about ready to listen to ANY other AC/DC song. | |
| AC/DC – Back In Black Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
Clearing some things up, chaps and chapettes. 1) the song Back In Black is a tribute from AC/DC to Bon Scott (he didn't choke on his own vomit - he was found dead in his friend's car the morning after a very large alcohol and drugs binge. Don't question this fact, I have the Definitive History of AC/DC). The song itself is a tribute to Bonna's life style - which was sex, drugs, fighting and rock and roll. In very large amounts. 2) the young Brothers are from scoland, raised in Australia since they were 6. Phil Rudd is the only Australian left in the band. 3) Bon Scott actually wrote a couple of the songs off the Back In Black album, whether he wrote the title track is controversial at best, but there is some evdence that he jotted down at LEAST some of the lyrics before he died. 4) The "Night Prowler" incident happened after AC/DC released the 'Highway To Hell' album, not 'Back In Black', but Sara is right; the HtH album got lots of attention. Mostly of the "AC/DC are evil!" kind by back-water uber-religious americans (AKA: idiots). Hope that's cleared up a few things. ---- Paul |
