I dont see why people jump around so much to classify bands! I mean, this song, whether listened to in a Christian sense or not, has meaning to everybody. I happen to know that Evanescence is Christian, but that shouldnt limit how much play they get. I am Christian just like she is, and therefore can relate better to her meaning behind it. It is that we have stumbled and are lost and dead without Christ, but we have found him now in a moment of greatest weakness and are begging to be awakened. But that doesnt mean that it cant be taken out of that concept, for it truely can. I just dont like to hear a limit of where it should be and people critizising when they hear it because it is "CHRISTIAN". That is a lifestyle, not a type of music. so lets leave it at that. But to the meaning of the song, adding to what i said previously, we are all in that area of tough times and need a way out, something or someone to help us where we need us, to be our strength and our stronghold, our love and our meaning for life. And that search, i believe is what this song is about. |

This song is one of the most true and amazing songs that I have encountered. Although not a Christian group, Linkin Park expresses what it is like to live as a Christian in a world of hate, lust, and impurity. To strive to live a wholesome life is something hard in this world, and this song shows that. To be a secular band and make a song that is usable by Christians and Christian organizations, you are attaining a great feet. And I applaud Linkin Park for attaining that level. |
