I'm not commenting on the meaning, but if you play backwards that unintelligible human-like voice at the end of the song, he says "he's a--he is a person now. [something]." That "something" is unintelligible to me, but sounds like "he's high now." I thought it was interesting... |

Chevelle is definately not Christian... maybe they attend church sometimes and maybe their parents are Christian, so they call themselves that. Well I can't speak for all of them, but my friend's girlfriend went to a concert of theirs with Disturbed and Taproot. She saw the bassist in the crowd so she walked up to him and he was talking to some girls about if he would get them backstage if they sucked his dick. Anyway, she said "excuse me" and he said "yeah..." all annoyed like, and she says that it was the second show she's been to and asks for an autograph, and Joe (the bassist) is like "yeah, well this is like the 600th show we've done" and then just walked off. What a prick... also look at all the photos of the band, Joe is full of it... he ALWAYS has his shirt off, like his body is God's gift to the world. It's like he's trying to follow in the footsteps of the lead singer from Incubus. |

This song is obviously about going to college because your parents want you to, but it ends up being more than you expected. I really like Relient K, but some of their Christian messages are flaky. For instance, that part: "Do what will make God happy Do what you feel is right Only but one thing matters Learn how to live your life." (yeah, first time he says "you happy" second time he says "God happy", listen to it and you'll see) Anyway, feelings hold no weight. Doing what we "feel" is right only leads to trouble. (It's not a long read, so it won't kill you) Also, the only thing that matters is serving God... maybe he just forgot to add the extra two words "serving God"... oh well. |
