| Angels and Airwaves – Love Like Rockets Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song reminds me so much of when you first start dating someone, and how magical it is. There is another musician named LIGHTS who has a song called, "Up Up and Away" which has this whole concept of comparing love to rockets. I think her song goes great as a follow up to this song because in her song its about the rocket crashing and being a symbol for the end of a relationship. Amazing. I love how everyone hears the last lyric differently. And on the cd's booklet there's no lyrics listed for the bridge, so who knows what he's really saying. I always thought it was "and burns light, fire, and sound." Though I think it would be cool if he was saying "with God's light, fire, and sound." |

| Lights – I Owe You One Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
"You pulled me from the grave" like others said is about God. This song is a praise song to Him. As Christians we are pulled from the grave by the power of Christ's sacrifice and will never taste the power of death. Before trusting in Christ's sacrifice we are all spiritually dead, but after we accept His death as what we deceive, then we are set free and have eternal life. "For the love you bring, owe you everything For the breath you give, You're my cause to live" |

I hit submit before I could edit my post, but its all good. Though when I said, "pre chorus" it should have said just "chorus". I really like the line, "Is mathematics keeping you from thinking free" because I don't like math. As mathematics being used here as an example for something that is exact which in return is very binding, I won't go into the meaning behind this line, but I think other Christians can relate to it a lot. Great song, I think my favorite Lights song EVER! |

| Lights – White Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Lights is a Christian and from that stand point its easy to see what she's actually writing about here. This song is about not letting sins from your past keep you from moving forward. The pre chorus for example: "Do you see lights turn your shadows white Do you feel bright, turn your shadows white" Like I said before light is a metaphor for God, and through His forgiveness enabled by Christ's death, we our turned to white (a metaphor for purity) and striped of our shadows (aka sin) And also: "Don't let rain clouds cry at all of your parades Let the other side of darkness kiss your face Into the sea, into the sea." The first line here has obvious meaning. In context to sin it would mean not to let sins from the past ruin the love and life you should be living. This leads right into the next line. What is the other side of darkness? In the Bible light and dark is a contrasted all the time as a metaphor for good and evil, God and satan. So what's the other side of darkness, it's God. Allowing Him to kiss your face is away of letting Him in and excepting His forgiveness, as a lot of people feel they have to "get over" their sins before they can come to God, but instead to "get over" them they have to go to Him. "Into the seas, into the sea" is my favorite part of this song. It has this really nice nostalgic feel for me. In the Bible it says that God tosses our sins into the sea to be forgotten forever. Moreover, it says to the very bottom of the sea. This is supposed to help us understand that once our sins are forgiven they are gone for good, and if we don't let them go that is sin itself because God said they are gone for good, and not letting them go is an act of defying God. |

Yeah, her being a Christian, this is definitely about Christ. I heard her say that she wrote this song over tears one dark night. She kept singing the "I just want to run to You" line over and over again. I'm so happy she's a Christian. Love the song Lions! as well. |

| Lights – Lions! Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I didn't know LIGHTS was a Christian at first, and when I heard this song, I was like, she has to be a Christian. A Lion is a symbol for Christ Giants is a symbol for challenges Christ gives you the courage to get through the challenges in life. It's through challenges that we grow as people, and when we over come challenges our faith in God grows, like Paul talks about in his letters. Death is a charade. Since there truly is no death, then we don't have to fear it. You don't have to feel safe to be unafraid. Since we have courage from Christ, challenges in life gives us faith which is a positive, there is no death for believers, we have nothing to fear even in unsafe conditions. |

| Lights – The Last Thing On Your Mind Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Yeah, this song is obviously to herself. I heard her say before that she doesn't write a lot of romantic songs. Most of the time in her songs she's singing to herself. The line, "Sing the last thing on your mind," is...well, picture this. She has just gone through something really bad, and now she has to get up on stage and sing a song about something totally different. She has to such it up and get the job done. Whatever it was that she's been through, she can't let it get the best of her and effect her on stage, or in life. I think this song carries a message to all of us that, yeah the world sucks, but that shouldn't hold us back, nor should our feelings hold us back, from doing what we need to do. Basicly, have a positive attitude regardless of the circumstances. Also, her being a Christian, I believe the "I'll" could be her telling herself that she'll keep herself in check, but I think it's more plausible that it's God telling her this. |

| Sum 41 – Speak of the Devil Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| ok, I take that back. The whole album reminds me of Green Day's American Idiot, but this song does have the sound of a blink 182 song. | |
| Sum 41 – Speak of the Devil Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This album doesn't remind me of Blink 182 at all. And I've studied Blink 182 more than anything else. This album reminds me a lot of Green Day though. | |
| Sum 41 – Confusion And Frustration In Modern Times Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
What does he mean exactly with the lines: Divided we stand Together we fall There's no God That can save us all So don't pray on your knees Just, beg on your hands There is no belief In this promised land There's no belief? Does he actually mean he believes this, or is it to show how confused we are in these modern times? There's so many references about God on this album, there is almost at least one in every song. What is going on lately? Panic! At the Disco was the first one I noticed who had a decent reference to God and themes. Fall Out Boy's last album does as well. And now this one. And I don't really know how to take any of them. Also, on Sum 41's last album, Chuck, it seemed to me that Derrek, unknowingly to himself, was screaming out of Christ on every single song. It seems to me that everything that my generation is so "confusion and frustration" is because they don't have a good understanding, nor a good relationship with who Christ is. |

| Dave Matthews Band – What Would You Say Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| God gave man a choice, he might have known whither or not man would fall, but he didn't make man's choice for him. Even if he did know, he would also know of his Son's rise to free man from that orginial sin, and also someday free man from Satan's evil works | |
| Dave Matthews Band – Crash Into Me Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| This song takes back to a time that I think I get over but it keeps crashing back to me. Not so much the words, in away I guess, but just the feeling the music evokes. The girl, the only girl that I have been obsessed with ever since the first moment I saw her. It's been over 6 years since that fateful night. I think of her a lot, mostly when I'm alone, or in the early spring when the flowers first bloom. I know, that it wouldn't have worked out even if it could have, would have been so. Or at least that's what I imagine. I've had girl friends, and I've gone on dates, but no one has ever came close to her, or at least what I think is her. Because I never really knew her, something inside me made me to afraid to approach her. To afraid, it wasn't that she was unapproachable. But it doesn't matter now always, does it. She has brought something more, something she may never know. Its pain, but I use that pain for the best of what I can. So maybe that's why she's there, I see her from time to time with another guy. She'll never know. So I send this out to the only girl that I never knew, but I can't get over: Courtney Crallie. | |

| Threebrain – Weeeee! Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| Its about the deep means of how life can treat you wrong, and that drugs arnt the answer, and neither is sex. And in the end we are all going to die even though we knew that the world will continue to spin around and around, and will continue to do so long after we're each gone till the end of time. | |

| Box Car Racer – I Feel So Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I've been a Blink 182 fan for awhile now (like 3 or 4 years) I have to admite that I didn't really like Box Car Racer when I first heard them, but now a days my taist in music has grew. I love Emo just as much as i love punk. I think this band shows the world just how much Blink 182 are geniuses. At first I didn't really like Blinks new cd, but really their good songs are better than their old good songs. But the losser good songs arn't nesasserily better than their older not so good songs. BUt still, they grew and we just have to grew with them. If you look at it from the outside, their music does get better. I can't wait to hear their new album. And I also really hope the Box Car makes a new one. | |

| I'm from canton so this song is the Sh'it. Like for most people who arnt from there wont get the little inside jokes, but yeah. Movies 4 is a theater that only costs a dollar, and on wednsdays its 50 cents. And like it's a pretty big teen hang out. For those of you that didn't know, Marilon Mason, and Macy Grey are also from Canton, and either of them have any songs about their hometown roots. So I tip my hat at the next big thing that's coming out of my hometown. | |

| Green Day – Basket Case Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Green Day is punk. They played with Blink 182. They are just as punk as Offspring. A founding father, like someone said. But anyways, this is where it all started for me. Growing up I never listened to a lot of music, just the Beatles cuz that's what my uncle listened to. But one day I saw Basic Case's video on MTV, and it just clicked. I was 14. I got their CD, and listened to it nonstop, and green day became my favorite band. But I didn't realize what punk was, I just new I liked it. Then I heard What's my Age again by Blink 182 on one of the new cd's. I went out, as a gamble, bought the cd, and loved it. Blink 182 became my new favorite band, and I saw them in concert. By Blink 182, I learned the kind of music that I like is punk. Then one day when I was in Walmart I saw this cd and liked the cover. I listened to the clips and really liked the songs. At the same time I saw another cd that had a cool cover, and liked the clips as well. The 1st cd was New Found Glory's self titled album. And the other one was Sum 41's all killa no filla. I didn't know which one to get, so I got the one with a picture of a Storm Trooper's leg on it. New Found Glory soon became my favorite band. I, not to long after, went and got the Sum 41 cd. I always say that I like NFG the most, but Sum 41 comes in a very, very, very close 2nd. I saw Sum 41 twice, and I'm going to see NFG in two weeks; I've been waiting to see them forever. But now I'm totally taken in my punk rock, and now emo. I live Relient K, they are right up there with the rest. If you haven't heard of them, check them out. They went to my highschool, and are makeing a serious name for themselves. (they're on this website in fact.) But yeah, I still live Green Day. And Blink 182 is still great. But that's my story behind this song, and that's what it means to me. | |
