beatifulsound is write but if you really wanna know why they wrote its because syd barret used to be able to become "comfortably numb" before shows and be able to jam and groove to it, No this isnt about syd but about people figuring out how to become comfortably numb for themselves. You guys are right that the wall was written by roger waters loosily based on his life. syd used to share his "trips" with roger and that is why he roger added all of the crazy worms and other weird,but sweet, things to "the wall" so that Syd could still be apart of the wall in some way.(but nobody really knew what the worms were about execpt syd and roger,probably the othere band members too) the part about the pin prick people wonder about, It is true that roger had to get the shot of adrenaline and they wanted people to think that that was there way of becoming comfortably numb, but it wasnt, they do this to get you thinking because you have to understand their music and it becomes like a natural high! If Jim couldnt write a song or a poem he would use unique situations such as oedipus and relate to it (considering he hated his parents because they were so strict and he finaly couldnt take them and left for college) He took this story and related to it and added on to it in his own way. Another thing i realized about Jims lyrics is that he purposely wrote his song so that there were many interprations to them,sometimes the band didnt even know what the songs were really about. I love Jim Morrison but he wasnt the nicest man , he lied and loved to manipulate people and confuse them until they understood things the same way he did |
