| Black Sabbath – She's Gone Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Very straightforward but still one of my favourite sabbath tracks. | |
| Dimmu Borgir – Puritania Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It's "I am bringer of light"; I don't have the cd-booklet available but every lyrics site I've checked says the same and I can't understand how you manage to hear "dark" when he sings. Also, "I am bringer of light", ie. Lucifier, is the only thing that actually makes sense regarding the rest of the song. | |
| Tom Waits – What's He Building in There? Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Dead on sloop. This is the song that sparked my interest in Tom Waits. I remember seeing the video on mtv (back when I still found it bareable) in the middle of night - I was instantly hooked. Of course, the line "what's he building in there?" has turned into a bit of an inside joke. Tends to cause weird looks from the uninitiated though. |

| Tom Waits – Black Market Baby Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I haven't really thought about any deeper meaning of the lyrics, but this song always sends chills down my spine. | |
| Judas Priest – Here Come The Tears Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This was so my song until a few years ago. Very beatifull. | |
| Lenny Kravitz – Let Love Rule Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I'm not a naturally religious person but this is what Christianity, and any religion for that matter, should be about. It's sad that religions are so easy to twist towards hate and alienation. As for the song itself, not one of lennys greatest but I never skip it on my playlist .) |

| Lenny Kravitz – I Belong To You Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Great song. I feel the stansa (sp?) "I always loved you from the start But I could not figure out That I had to do it everyday" really is the core of the songs message. It's not enough to love someone, you have to show them that you do, every day. Never take your loved ones for granted. |

| Samael – Angel's Decay Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Minor error in the lyrics I believe. "As so one wanted to hear.." should be "As no one.." I'd say it's basically a short tale of depression/suicide. The strange path he has been walking on is depression but he's shamefull of not being able to cope with life. "My wound so deep My veins opened wide Letting flow my distress Letting flow my requests" The deep wound is mentally. He slits his wrists and the flowing blood provides relief from that. "Listen my friend As so one wanted to hear I’m telling you now " No one would hear his pleas for help (or at least it seemed that way because of the depression), suicide is the only way he can express how he feels. Third verse details the depression. Eg. "I slide down the hole at the center of my soul ": The self-destructive introversion depression can lead to. "For I let the angel rise" The soul, or the "good and pure" part of him, is freed from the confinement of his body when he dies. |

| Rammstein – Stein um Stein Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I see it as being about someone controlling a relationsip to the point where the weaker part loses contact with his/her former life and friends. The dominant person is too insecure to let the other one be free - it's not necessarily about love, but rather how fear of loss can push some people to extremes. | |
| Eels – Mental Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Reminds of way back when I was really depressed and very cynical. When you reach the state of mind where everything seems to be a lie and you're simply not "amused by it all". Then again it might be because that's when I first heard the song. *shrug* | |
