i like this song...the lyrics are really good. it reminds me of perfection in a relationship. but i think its about how he likes this girl who hes never really talked to..you know one of those people you crush on from afar. cause look at the last line 'theres this really great gal id like to hang out with sometime'. he doesnt say that i like to hang out with..he wishes he could hang out with her. i think its cute. my fav. part is the beginning though...and of course the ending too. |

beatuiful. this song is by far the best dashboard song. if you just LISTEN to the way chris sings all the words you can tell he put sooo much meaning into the song. it holds a lot of personal significance as well. having a moment like this with someone you love is totally indescribable, yet chris carrabba writes a BEAUTIFUL song that describes exactly how i feel. =-)

okay heres my take on the song. its about this guy who had a relationship with this girl in high school and she never felt she was "popular" or "good enough". so then when they go away to college, she decides shes gonna put on this act so she can be the person everyone wants her to be. so she wears makeup and gets a tattoo and she makes up a new past, just so she can get through the college experience and make ppl like her. and he keeps telling her shes "rushing her moment to shine" b/c he knows shes so much deeper than everyone else and if they could all just see her like he has, "undone", then they would like her so much better. but she doesnt see that so she keeps on being insecure.
i especially like the part "And those friends you have/are the best impressing/most of us/as permanent" because that is so true...when youre trying to fit in, you make "friends" who you say are your "best friends" but youre only hanging out with them b/c it makes you look more important or b/c they make you feel good about yourself. this song is sooo about college life. i just went to college in the fall and this is how EVERYONE is...so fake and trying to impress everyone, and it kinda sucks b/c you never get to see anyone undone. *sigh* i love this song. |
