The Damned – Bad Time For Bonzo Lyrics 20 years ago
This song is definately in referance to the jelly bean munching republican swine. Im suprised how many people have never heard of the Damned, they were highly influential in the early days of punk, and also contributed to the Goth/Darkwave scene.

The Smashing Pumpkins – Galapogos Lyrics 23 years ago
a beautiful lament, starts out slow like most love songs but I love the parts where it picks up into a heavier sound. I think barelymissingyou has hit the nail on the head as to the meaning of the song.

The Smashing Pumpkins – Farewell and Goodnight Lyrics 23 years ago
Well one of the reasons I love Smashing Pumpkins and something Im trying to swell up in my own music is the connection to the audience. SP always had that edge where it seemed as if they were talking directly to you, this song just reminds me so much of why I loved SP. Actually in some ways SP did die after this album, not physically but they seemed to draw away more from the spotlight. I miss them even now, doesnt seem like there is many bands like this anymore.

Dio – Rainbow In The Dark Lyrics 23 years ago
no one has commented on this song yet? this is one of Dio's most popular songs. And strange yet is how many people dont know of Dio, the guy is a legend among heavy metal fans. I was introduced to him because of my obsession with Black Sabbath, I just grew to love Dio. You want some real heavy metal, throw out that POD and pop in "Holy Diver" sometime, youll be newly reborn I promise.

Dio – Holy Diver Lyrics 23 years ago
I totally agree with the idea of the song being about heroine addiction. When you think about the lyrics he is almost referring it to a religious experience (hence the title "holy diver")

Bob Marley and the Wailers – Is This Love? Lyrics 23 years ago
haha, I think adding a song to a relationship kills the song, just think when you break up, this song will just remind you of the person you lost. but anyways this is a good love song to me because there is nothing about money or asthetics, he will share all he has even if it isnt much. When you think about it sharing all you have when you have barely anything means more than sharing only part of your belongings when you have a lot. Oh well just my little take on things.

Bob Marley and the Wailers – One Love Lyrics 23 years ago
geez just because the man was religous shouldnt hurt his music at all. unlike most christians bob marley actually made the most sense. This song to me is about trying to unite the world in peace and passing our differences aside (money, color, religion, etc...)

Bob Marley and the Wailers – Buffalo Soldier Lyrics 23 years ago
When I first heard this song I thought it was about a hunter from africa who was enslaved and brought to america where he basically had to suffer through injustice and while he was a great warrior back home he was nothing but a slave here. But of course like many of Marley's songs there is never one right answer.

Bob Marley and the Wailers – Get Up, Stand Up Lyrics 23 years ago
yah we all know bob marley (along with almost every other musician) smoked weed. But your really disrespecting Marley's work and his meanings when you keep on referring every song of his to Pot, the man was a phylosopher and gave more meaning than most musicians ever will. No song of his can be taken one way or another thats the beauty of it. To me this song is about the hypocricies of religion and how people would do anything to get into "heaven" (you have your terrorists who would kill thousands of people to get there). They dont realize that religion plain and simply is about "living".

Bob Marley and the Wailers – Redemption Song Lyrics 23 years ago
this was the first song I learned to play on the guitar and still is one of my favorites. I just cant believe how amazing his lyrics are, truly we should all be inspired by this artist. this song has many different meanings, quite literally it could be a song about slavery in the 18th and 19th century. But to me this song is more about being a slave to the modern world where many of us feel almost hopeless, but as long as we keep our minds and spirits strong we will prevail.

Bob Marley and the Wailers – I Shot The Sheriff Lyrics 23 years ago
seriously I am sick of people thinking Im just some pot smoking guitar player because I listen to bob marley. The man had some of the most influential music ever, and still is sorely given little respect. Your talking about a man that recieved recognition from the UN for moving peace in africa and fighting for the rights of all people.
