I view this song as more about depression, and how hiding it and beating yourself up about it isn't going to help overcome it.

I have no idea how the hell these guys play so fast, but I hope they never stop. This song is just amazing.

this isn't the bonus track, but I bet there will be one. This song seems to me like a big climax, with all the different songs coming together. Other than that I have no clue what it means, it seems like Claudio (the one in the story) is remembering everything that has happened, like a flashback or something.

Imber, I believe almost everything so far past the song devil in jersey city has been conjecture, as claudio hasn't really released anything yet. And listening to the whole album (I have it too) I believe most of the songs have dual meanings, one for claudio in real life, and one for the story. Too many of the songs would fit both for me to see that some follow the story, and some don't. Welcome Home is one, that follows the story, but also tells part of claudio's life.

I think zi is the closest, but I like strange brews layout better. only correction I'd make is

I gravitate towards you
I am willing to now hate you
woah... woah...

I think this is willhelm ryan destroying star iv, and the prise along with it. He's trying to hange the prophecy of god, and wants to be completely in control.

Coheed and Cambria – Wake Up Lyrics 20 years ago
this song is great, especially the finished version with all the orchestra instruments in it. I think Al tried to kill Newo in the song before this, Once Upon Your Dead Body, by poisoning her. Claudio saves her, and this is him trying to get her to "wake up", but he has to leave before she is recovered.

And welcome home, and the entire rest of the album, is amazing.

The guitar work is still there, it's just a little more subtle. Also, there aren't any solo's, which also makes you focus on the guitar less. I think this song was supposed to be more about the lyrics, because the way they fit together and the way claudio sings them are amazing. easily my favoirte out of the 4 new songs.

TheS0S's lyrics edited:

Is the word right to say,
Even in this old fashioned way?
Go make your move girl,
I’m not coming home.

Would things have changed if I could have stayed?
Would you have loved me either way,
Dressed to the blues, day to day, with my collar up?

Decision sits so make it quick,
A breath inhaled from a mist so sick.
I curse the day that I heard of the web you’ve spun.

You had your (not sure what word, but sounds like hope) to bleeding.

Hey!
Hey!

If it was up to me,
I would have figured you out,
Way before the year clocked out.
Though I hope you’re waiting.
(Before the year wound down.)
Though I hope you’re waiting.

Listen well, will you marry me?
(Not now, boy.)
And are you well in the suffering?
(You’ve been,)
The most gracious of hosts,
(Ooo-ooo-ooo, Ooo-ooo-ooo!)
You may be invited, girl, but you’re not coming in.

Listen well, will you marry me?
(Not now, boy.)
And are you well in the suffering?
(You’ve been,)
The most gracious of hosts,
(Ooo-ooo-ooo, Ooo-ooo-ooo!)
I may be invited, girl, but I’m not coming in.

Hey!
Hey!

If it was up to me,
I would have never walked out.
So, until the sun burns out,
Oh, I hope you’re waiting

Would we have lived as a child would care?
With this vial to drink I dare,
(Oh where have you been?)
Only to cry all alone with your days gone by.
(Oh where have you been?)
(Oh where have you been, if it hurts you'll be forgiven, pray.)
Should we try this again with hope,
(Bye Bye)
Or is it lost give up the ghost?
And should I die all alone as I knew I would?
(Then burn in Hell, young sinner.)

Hey!
Hey!
HAHA!

If it was up to me,
I would have figured you out,
Way before the year clocked out.
(Woo-hoo-hoo)
(Before the year wound down)
Though I hope you’re waiting.
Though I hope you’re waiting.

If it was up to me,
(You burned your throat.)
I would have never walked out.
(Oh where have you been.)

I may be invited girl, but I’m not coming in.

And you’re not coming in.

it's a combination of theS0S's lyrics with Sparta's lyrics.

Also, is anyone else as excited for the 120 page graphic novel thats being released with the album? I love the comic's that have been slowly coming out, and a big book that tells the entire story of this album is going to be amazing.

I agree with the S0S, except for the line before the first pre chorus. It sounds like "You had your hope to breathing".

Also, it does seem like a letter Claudio is writing to Newo, or a conversation. However, I think Ambelina is stepping in, because this isn't what he is supposed to do. Newo is mad at Claudio, because of the letter he wrote to her in the light and the glass, telling her he had to leave. "if it hurts you'll be forgiven" is Newo saying, if you are truly sorry for what you did, I'll forgive you.

Crankmytunes, I don't think Welcome Home is about the story at all. Some of the songs on this album are about Claudio (the singer/writer) and stuff that went on in his life, songs that don't further the story.

And it is similar to the end of Three Evils.

Factory Patriot, Newo didn't have sex with Al. On the trip with her, he falls in love, and trys to, but she pushes him away. He gets angry and embarassed because he got the signals mixed from her. He's also supposedly the sniper in Favor House Atlantic, helping Claudio escape.

From what I've read on cobaltandcalcium.com, this album doesn't continue the story quite as much. It's more about the writer of the story's (Claudio, I presume) life. He also talks to his characters in some of the songs. So this song now seems like it's about a girl Claudio (the singer) is dating, and he finds out she just goes out with him because he is famous and rich. So he gets pissed at her.

The second verse is Claudio(the character) yelling at the writer, saying why are you blaming me (the story, album, band, the things that attributed to his fame) for things like this? It's not my fault. Get on with writing the story, I want to know if I am ever happy again.

The race is not called the Prise, they are the fairy creatures that watch over the keywork for god. The race that rules over man is called Mage.

It seems that Newo (Claudio's girlfriend) does something to betray him. He wants to forgive her, but can't, now that he has become the Crowing. I can only imagine what she did, maybe try to turn him over to Mayo? Or the race that actually runs everything, whose name escapes me right now.

One more thing, Ragnarok, you are actually wrong yourself. It's Newo Ikkin (claudio's girlfriend) who is escorted on the ship with Al, and he falls in love with her. And Claudio is the older son, as I've already said.

A few people have gotten the meaning of this song right. It's about Coheed being forced to murder his two children, Mariah and Matthew. They are both the two younger children, in the comic book they appear to be around 5 or so, with Josephine being the oldest, who is also killed, and Claudio being the second oldest. He is "the crowing", a messiah of sorts. The Prise are like angels, and ambellina is a fairy, not part of the prise.

In the little book that came with the cd, it does say F.B.I., but does also say run down past the fence. Looking over the book, I've found some errors, left out words, and lines (lines that aren't repeated). So it's very possible it meant to be K.B.I. Thats what it sounds like he's saying right after the "run down past the fence" part. I've come up with a number of theories about what this song means, none I'm fully happy with. Especially after reading the comic book.

The Dresden Dolls – Colorblind Lyrics 21 years ago
I think it's about how she loves a guy, more than anything, but realizes that they aren't right for each other. Not "the one" as the song says. They are too different to work, so she has to leave him. Also, it might have something to do with his mother, Because she says "I love you like a mother, even after all she's done." The "only sees in black and white" is about how he thinks, something is either one way or the other, and it could be that he sees what his mother tells him. Or maybe I'm reading way too far into these lyrics.

This song is awesome, and i can't believe TREOS is on here too. I thought they broke up when the lead singer left, glad to know they are still together.
