Elbow – Mexican Standoff Lyrics 17 years ago
I hear "I wish I was part" as well, almost like he wishes to be included in the standoff because right now he feels like the girl is still hooked on the past guy.

The second time around though, it doesn't sound like part. No idea, but awesome song nonetheless!

I agree with howz, it's "a leaf in the breeze" from what I can tell.

Wow, half of these lyrics are horribly wrong. Go to Trevor's Myspace page and look at the actual lyrics, which he posted in a blog post back in May.

Am I the only person who thinks of Beverly Hills Cop when I hear this song?

Probably one of the few songs that I actually say to myself, "Gee, I wish I had wrote that..."

The Postal Service – Natural Anthem Lyrics 20 years ago
I have a feeling this song might mean something different than what most people here have said it means. I think when he starts singing, he's of course addressing people in his own personal life. The second line of the song says "it will be a natural anthem, familiar it may seem," which is simply stating that some of his songs will be familiar since they deal with events from his personal life.

We, the listeners that he doesn't know, are the striking workers that he's going to rally. He's saying that his songs will be familiar to people he knows, but they will also be so beautiful that they will inspire us people who never even experienced the events in his life.

And then of course, the final few lines of the song is saying that his songs may be biased and be from his perspective, but he's asking his friends and family not to be angry with him. Then he throws in a little joke at the end to make them smile. =)

Collective Soul – Perfect To Stay Lyrics 20 years ago
I love this song, especially the first two stanzas of it. I'm surprised nobody's commented on it yet.

I went to live in Australia for a while back in January and I was scared out of my mind. But on the plane, for some reason this song calmed me down and I ended up having the time of my life over there =)

Yellowcard – Believe Lyrics 21 years ago
Hangoverv, you have got to be joking. I think you have blurred the lines between trying to capitalize off a tragedy and trying to say "thank you" to all those who helped. Apparently you think nobody should write a book, song, poem, or hell even talk about it since they might make money. It's not like Yellowcard is singing a song about how cool it was to see the buildings fall. They're saying Thank You.

Collective Soul – December Lyrics 22 years ago
I don't know. From the lyrics, it seems that the relationship has gone sour, the hatred has settled in, and then all of a sudden the girl has come crawling back to the guy and he can't bring himself to forgive her for everything she did to him.
