I read an article recently that talked about how the band members really do not get along with each other. That their personalities clash - Sein is passive aggressive, Harris is loud and outspoken, and Knopf is quiet. I wonder if this song was written about somebody in the band? |

This song hit me right in the gut the first time I heard it. Such a perfect sentiment at just the right moment.
It was the day before we had to put my childhood dog to sleep and I was having a great day. I had just gotten a raise and had a talk with the boss about plans for the future, which were coming along exactly as I hoped. Driving home from work on this beautiful, sunny day, I was doing my best to ignore the sadness waiting just under the surface, when this song came on a mix CD that a friend gave me.
The words and melody hit me like a ton of bricks. It wasn't long before I broke down and just started crying. I had been shutting out the reality of losing one of my best friends and the pain that comes along with it. The song beautifully mixes the pain of death and loss with hope for the future and love of life.
I wish I was half the wrtiter Regina is so I could properly express the impact this song has had on me. |

this is one of the most touching songs i've ever heard. the music is absolutely beautiful. the words are delivered with so much emotion. the end of the song where the music just keeps building up is amazing. as for the meaning, it's obviously about losing the person you love. a lot of songs are based on this topic, but few are done as well as this one. |

This song is great. Very positive and 'feel-good' I would say.
As for the popularity thing... I don't really listen to the radio or give a shit what other people think about my music tastes. Just listen to what sounds good to you and fuck what other people think about it. And if you don't listen to the radio, the song won't get played out
The only thing that does suck is its hard to see bands live when they blow up like so. |

"I wanna see it when you find out what comets, stars and moons are all about "
I love this line so much. To me it means that he wants to see the emotions that this person experiences as they gain understanding about life. |

KQED may be a radio station, but it is definately a television station also. This may or may not have anything to do with the song (most likely not), but I know they are a station that tried to broadcast executions publically on television, the Court told them that they weren't allowed to. Probably unrelated, but that's the only time I've ever heard of them other than in this song. |
