'Damnesia' really made me remember how much I love this song. I think this song is about a guy and a girl who have always been really close, and there has always been an underlying desire to be something more than friends, but life has always prevented anything like that from happening (ie, relationships with other people). I think this song is them meeting up to catch up after not seeing each other in awhile, and his feelings hit him harder than before. The whole "let's be afraid" part, to me, is talking about how it's scary to allow yourself to really and truly fall in love and they know this is the 'real deal' and he doesn't care to be scared of it. And the "you've got so far to go" part, again this is my opinion, is related to the fact that maybe she's just came out of a relationship (why they haven't really spoken in awhile) with someone else and isn't ready to begin something else with him. So he forgets that maybe her heart is breaking over someone else after their amazing night and he wants to kiss her, but remembers before he does that she's "got so far to go" and doesn't want to complicate her life. |

People, watch SAY ANYTHING. I just saw the video and that is a total reproduction of the movie, pretty much. Also, the leadsinger wrote this about his girlfriend when they were recording the cd and fighting a lot because he was gone - and Say Anything is their favorite movie. He says, "I was pretty much letting her know that no matter what happens, I am not afraid to stand next to an old Malibu holding an old boom box." But yeah, "In my eyes" does own this song. :) |

This song basically reminds me of this boy I was infatuated (or, IN LOVE) with a while ago - he didn't feel the same. This song was basically on repeat the whole time - because I was going through this situation, I interputted the lyrics some a (kind of) different way. I hated him for not feeling the say & I was tired of trying to gain his affection, hence: "i've got a big fat fucking bone to pick, with you my darling, in case you haven't heard i'm sick & tired of trying, i wish you, would take my radio to bathe with you, plugged in & ready to fall..."
