I don't think he's forgotten anything. It's clearly a very bitter outlook on life in general. Maybe a little more bluntly put than most JT songs, but it definitely gets the point across. The flute/acoustic combination in this song always makes me feel like I'm up in the mountains.

I honestly believe that the line "robot lords of tokyo, smile! taste kittens!" is just a gag pretty much. Like when you see poorly translated Japanese TV, and they get the meaning completely wrong. I think it's just there to throw people off and make them think about it when it really doesn't mean anything.

Come on, guys... this whole ALBUM is Animal Farm paralleled! You have the pigs (those pretending to be what they're not), the dogs (supposedly the protectors, but according to the song have some deep inner deadness causing them pain), and then the sheep (who as stated before, see nothing and follow blindly). All you need now is Snowball (or whatever the goat's name was) and it would be Animal Farm to a T. Or an A, rather. Of course, when you're constrained to 40-some-odd minutes for a vinyl, things get cut. Who knows? Maybe Roger had a whole 2-album miniseries planned and had to forego that bit of creative genius for a couple years =P

I dont think this song means anything at all. Honestly, I think they just wanted to make something that sounded like a makeout song, but if you listened really closely to it, you'd get a much stranger reaction. Kinda like, "What the crap!? What in the name of God is THAT supposed to mean!?"

I read this on their site, actually... this song is about a girl driving away from a guy in her car and seeing him in the side view mirrors. And instead of being "closer than they may appear", she's "actual size". Pretty sneaky, eh?
