Jets to Brazil – King Medicine Lyrics 23 years ago
"...reprieve some fleeting joy posing as balance..." Yep, yep. Observant, no?

Oingo Boingo – Dead Man's Party Lyrics 23 years ago
If only this were the afterlife afterparty! I've always loved Oingo Boingo's dark sense of fun with their mortality. If you have to die, you may as well take the reaper by the hand and do a little jig.

Weezer – Across The Sea Lyrics 23 years ago
I may be just a wee Weezer fan, (in fact, the above lyrics are the first that I've read by Weezer) but I am moved nonetheless. "As if I could live on words, and dreams, and a million screams." That line is one of the most beautiful that I've ever had the pleasure of purusing. Absence seems to make the heart forlorn and musically fertile. I would like to say to Rivers, "Man, just fucking call her! You deserve, in your supreme suffering, to sniff and lick more than merely an envelope." Ah well, he'll not read this, too busy wrestling his genius into gourmetable verse for the fans, eh?

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – O'Malley's Bar Lyrics 23 years ago
A beautiful example of where too much introspection and vanity might lead. "Unarmed" indeed. Without weapon for an ugly world.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – As I Sat Sadly by Her Side Lyrics 23 years ago
Thank you so very much for posting this amazing song aj2828aj! I am not as familiar with the music of Mr. Cave as I plan to be. I saw the music video for this song and fell in love. Now that I have read the lyrics, I am only more enthralled. Mr. Cave speaks of a balance one can only hope to achieve. Yet he lends sympathy to those who dwell on the darker side, the outside. Those, like myself, who see the beauty and pain of this world and often become "ugly, useless, and over-inflated" for no damn good reason... smiling all the time.

Now It's Overhead – Wonderful Scar Lyrics 23 years ago
Ohhhh the angst! (kidding) sounds like Now it's Overhead could use a dayjob - in my humble opinion.

System of a Down – X Lyrics 23 years ago
I believe that this song, on one level, is drug-related. System of a Down's songs often refrence Cocaine or Methanphetamine and anyone who has ever done these drugs (not a suggestion) knows that shakes often accompany other come-down symptoms, like forgetfullness. (i.e. the keys) "tweekers & their short-term memories"-Tool On the aforementioned "other level" I think that towards the end of the song the drug addict's hypocricy is shown. Wanting to be saved but not wanting to be humble. This song has been such a great comfort, even if my interpertation is skewed.
