The Rolling Stones – Ruby Tuesday Lyrics 19 years ago
I have read a quote from Keith where he can't remember the name of the girl that it was about, but it was a girl he had broken up with and all he had left was a pair of her panties and the song was just built from that. Brian Jones helped him write the lyrics and the music is almost all Brian. He was very musical and always played the piano, which is how this song came about. He had the melody down and would always play it, almost obessively and Keith finally decided he needed to come up with the rest of the song or Brian would never stop playing it on the piano.

The Rolling Stones – Honky Tonk Women Lyrics 19 years ago
When Mick and Keith wrote this song, it started out as a joke. They were on holiday in Brazil and were staying at this ranch house, complete with horses and cattle. They were just goofing off trying to be country and they came up with this.

The Rolling Stones – Wild Horses Lyrics 19 years ago
What I have heard is that this song started out being about Keith leaving his son Marlon to go out on tour, but Mick took it over, and wrote it about Marianne. She made the statement that wild horses couldn't drag her away when she awoke from a drug induced coma. That was the inital inspriation for the song, they all thought it was a good line for a song. She was a complete addict and was not only self destructive, but she caused problems for Mick and their relationship had become very temultous. Both of them had affairs and would treat the other badly, but they still had a lot of love between them. The Stones management had been encouraging Mick to break it off with her because she wasn't good press for him. She said that Mick wrote her the song as a last ditch effort to save their relationship even though they both knew it was over. It makes sense when you read the lyrics, and it's really sad.

The Rolling Stones – 19th Nervous Breakdown Lyrics 19 years ago
This was recorded in December of 1965 and Mick was still with Chrissie. This was most likely about her, as he always complained about how high maintainence and self absorbed she was. He supposedly wrote Under my thumb about her too, when their was a power shift in their relationship. Marianne and him didn't get together until late 66, early 67.

The Rolling Stones – You Got The Silver Lyrics 19 years ago
Riverside- You must have a different version of this song, as it is MOST definetely Keith on the album version (Let it Bleed). This song was written for Anita Pallenberg. She worked on the film Performance with Mick and they had an affair during this time. Keith was concerned she would leave him, and he wrote this song for her. That is the primary reason Keith wanted to sing it. Somehow he was able to get over the affair, but he wasn't going to let Mick sing the song.
