i have a taped recording of i believe the first jets show and before this song blake says that it's about the tragedy of montgomery clift who for those who don't know was an actor who was in a horrible car accident and had to have half of his face surgicaly reconstructed which i think is pretty obviously the first verse. and he mentions the timothy hutton charecter from ordinary people who was named conrad and i believe there is a line in the movie about double edged and super blue razors that he used when he slit his wrists |

This is quite possibly the best song i have ever heard. The lyrics are amazing and the song arangement is perfect. I love how it slows down and gets really beautiful right before the climax of the song, wow |
