I go with strange brew's explanation. Matthew is NOT the prizefighter, that's Jesse, aka Inferno, Coheed's brother. And in the chorus, the lyrics are slightly wrong - instead of repeating "Me and my star" twice, the second time round it's "Maria my star".
Matthew is the "obnoxious little brother" mentioned in The Light & The Glass and "the one they call the vision that bears the gift" from In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3. He's not a good brother too the other three children, but is the only one to seemingly have inherited some of Coheed's powers. |

The only song on Agaetis Byrjun in Hopelandic is Olsen Olsen. The rest are all Icelandic, except for the intro and Avalon which are instrumental. The next album will have vocals, but no lyrics as far as I know |

I'm almost 100% this is about giving up or reducing drinking, although I like your idea. Dave's said it's about changing your habits to stay yourself. i think there definetly is 2 parts to it, but I think it's the old and new Dave before and after stopping drinking or possibly self harming, not 2 people. "You don't need to get wasted to be rock and roll" is his quote about it |

I agree with hangingbyamoment.
The line "All that contains me is gravity" is one of my favourite ever, for some reason it really gets to me. It's such a poetic way of saying there's no reason left for him to be alive. I love Dave's lyrics.

In some ways, I think this is a partner song to Neptune. Whereas Neptune (to me) is about escaping something earlier on in life, this is about the incident / memory he's trying to escape from. I think it's about an event in the past, that was someone's fault, and the song is Dave's way of telling that person

I think it's about something happening to you in childhood, possibly abuse or a friend dying, and trying to escape it. When Dave (Mcpherson, guitars and vocals) talks about a person, like
"You sedate me, elevate me, incarcerate me and you hate me,
Neptune in the sea. "
or
"This is the way forwards,
You are the way backwards,
I chose the way forward,
And left you all behind. "
I think he's talking about a place which holds memories for him, that he feels compelled to leave but can't, and then decided he has to to escape the childhood memories. Another thing that made me think this is the single cover, which has 2 really scary looking children's faces on...

VacantStare, I think you might be right. InMe lyrics have a lot of references to suicide and that wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary for dave to write, and the lyrics definetly fit that theme
