This is a little overdue, but I saw some erroneous comments about "Comfortably Numb" that will drive me insane if I don't correct them... "demo0043 on 08-21-2002 @ 04:31:39 PM David Gilmour wrote the music for this song, and Roger Waters dismissed it. But when they put together The Wall, Roger needed another song so he wrote the lyrics to this song in like an hour. " This simply cannot be true. Pink Floyd needed no new materiel while working on The Wall, otherwise the album "The Final Cut" would not exist. "The Final Cut" is basically the songs that were left over, or cut, from "The Wall" "NoseDragon ...The chorus is suppose to be Syd and the verses are the doctor." Perhaps you're getting your albums mixed up...It's "Wish You Were Here" that is dedicated to Syd, not "The Wall". "The Wall" is autobiographical for Roger Waters, or so all four band members have said in NUMEROUS interviews, and it is in fact he who the doctor is speaking to. As for the heroin analogies being made, they are very good analogies, and kudos to those who took the time to think them up, but good ol' Roger was in fact injected with Adrenaline(Bull Adrenaline, I think) so he could go on stage. The injection led to his antics in the songs "In The Flesh" and "Waiting For the Worms" |
