well. I just thought of this... Swimming in November... you could interpret that as the ice caps melting and causes flooding or that since its warmer, you can go swimming. |

I haven't read everyone's comments... but this is what I think. I think the "dream" that he is having represents the ideas/thoughts/actions that people in general have. The JFK conspiracy. Some people are willing to believe that he was killed by just one man, who was crazy/confused. Maybe the writer of the song thinks that those people are naive to believe that. When he says, "Don't wake me, I plan on sleeping." It could possibly reflect his opinion that the general population who believes that one man is responsbile for the death of JFK don't want to wake up, see the truth, and deal with the problem. When you put it into the context of Global Warming... A lot of people ignore Global Warming, they don't even think about the fact that it is a serious problem. They are oblivious. "Now we can swim any day in November" is what will happen if we ignore Global Warming, ice caps melt, the world is sorta... underwater. And, again, "don't wake me I plan on sleeping" reflects people's apathy about it. "Don't make the think about it, I don't want to deal with it." |

I think this song is about the girl wanting the guy, maybe not loving him, but she def. wants him... but he is the bad guy, womanizer, popular with the ladies, a man whore, however you wanna put it... and she knows that, but she can't keep herself from coming back to him. she knows he is bad, but doesnt wanna admit/accept it, and she likes to think he is different but she knows she cant change him so there you have it. Anna Nicole's two cents on this song. |

the into to this song is awesome. sometimes i listen to it and rewind it over and over... its pretty self explanitory, though... if ya don't know what it means... wow. But its funny, because I always thought they said "you say that you want respect, well you better get some for yourself" instead of "well you've been tainted, suffer yourself" until now... but when I listen to it, it sounds like it could go either way... but in my opinion, "you better get some for youself" sounds better. "Don't try to be cute with me, cause I know you hate youself" most definiitely my fav line |

To me, this song seems more about someone he isn't with, but instead maybe he wants to be with her, but she doesn't take his feelings seriously and toys with him, and maybe she gets him to mess around with her. he is aware of what she is doing, but he still doesn't wanna give up on her. I'll leave the lights down low so she knows I mean business, And maybe we could talk this over Cause I could be your best bet Let alone your worst ex -- He wants her to take him seriously, and talk about being together, and he thinks if they were in a relationship it could go either way... he could be her best bet, or the relationship could fail miserably and he could be her worst ex. So honestly, how could you say those things when you know they don't mean anything? And you know very well that I can't keep my hands to myself, --She tells him things he wants to hear, but won't let him have her, but she toys with him and gets him to mess around, and he wants her and can't control himself. This is all wrong and it shows There's certain things I promised not to let you know, not to let you know I never let you, never let you, never... -- He wants her to know he cares about her, and he wants to be with her, but he doesnt want to let on how much she hurts him with her games, but he knows messin around with her is wrong. You've got this silly way of keepin' me on the edge of my seat But you're only countin' the clock against the train And I'm miserable, oh And you're just getting started I'm miserable, oh And you're just getting started -- She plays her games and keeps him around. maybe "im miserable and you're just getting started" is him speaking directly from the situation as it is happening... I dont get the clocks and trains, though... let's never talk about this again because... I didn't want it to mean that much to me --- In the beginning it says, maybe we could talk this over, they talked it over, and he realizes he isnt getting her but she'll keep playing her games and he will keep getting hurt, but he doesnt it to be so important to him. thats my two sense, but hey, i am more than likely way way off... i relate to this song, though. sweet talked by one of those guys who i wasnt in a relationship with, and hey what do you know, i can't keep my hands to myself, and now i feel like the lines of the song "honestly how could you say those things when you know they dont mean anything" and "i didnt want it to mean that much to me" and "i wanna hate you so bad, but i cant stop this any more than you can" BOYS SUCK! |

Well, "Finish your whiskey or beer", what does that have to do with actual birth? Since this song came out, to me it's always meant graduation. I thought I was the only one who thought that! Open all the doors and let you out into the world - I just see the doors to a school swinging open, and the kids flooding out... after graduation, you are sent out into the world to start your own life. turn the lights on over every boy and every girl- boys and girls are in school one last call for alcohol, so finish your whiskey or beer you don't have to go home but you can't stay here. - Yeah, so this line doesn't fit perfectly... but you could use it metaphorically, example, you need to put a close on all the things you have going on and finish things up, like relationships, because you are about to leave. time for you to go back to the places you will be from. - you are gonna go out and start your life and maybe move away from your parents this room won't be open 'til your brothers or you sisters come. - the next generation will go to your classes So gather up your jackets, and move it to the exits - I hope you have found a friend. - its time for you to leave and maybe you have found a companion, friend or more, to be with your throughout your life, every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end. - everything ends in life, but with the endings come new things, graduation closes a chapter of your childhood, but opens up a new life for you. Overall, I just think this song is about endings and beginnings, even if it isn't a direct reference to graduation... everything comes to an end, but don't fret, because there are new beginnings. This song made me cry a few times, imagining graduation and other "endings" in my life... I'm gradutating this year... :( |

| Alkaline Trio – Clavicle Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I don't see the big deal in listening to underground music... So, a band gets popular? Why is that important? Not everyone realizes that what comes on the radio/MTV isn't the only music out there... "selling out" gives artists a chance to reach a wider audience, really. | |
| Senses Fail – Bloody Romance Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I doubt anyone could guess this was about a divorce without hearing the band say that... but my opinion... He wrote the song about what he wanted to write about... he didn't make it clear it was about a divorce, so he leaves it up to the listener to interpret it how they want... thats how it is with all music, you interpret it as you see it... and thats why music is wonderful | |

Fall Out Boy is awesome! I agree with everyone else, they are most def. a band you can turn all the way up speedin down the highway and just jam. I'm going to see them at Warped Tour and I cannot wait. This is what I think this song is about. He is into a girl and he lets her know... "my heart is on my sleeve". He thinks she likes him because she is leading him on. "... that means I believe every single lie you said." Then he realizes that she is playing him... he could see the pick up truck and it could be some other guy she is with... and then he starts trying to avoid her, but she still wants his attention cause maybe she likes him, just not enough to be with him. (every tap on the shoulder for attention) and decides to do something to get back at her, but while he is going to do whatever to get back at her, he knows he shouldnt be going, but he keeps thinking about the other guy at her house (the pick up truck in front of her neighboors) but then she hears about what he did and she is hurt, and he is like "this is your fault. i'm not apologizing" and he wishes the worst for her cause even though he got back at her, he is still hurt. Anyway. Thats my take, and I hope it makes sense. |

| Red Hot Chili Peppers – My Friends Lyrics | 23 years ago |

I'm sure he did write it from personal experiences, but yeah... its about being there for your friends when they are having problems. Being supportive and loving and what not. "Cause I'll be on your side" I can really relate to this song, because all of my friends are just generally unhappy and depressed, and thats something I really can't relate to. But they come and talk to me, and I try to hard to be there for them, and be supportive and helpful. Its great when I feel like I really have helped them, but sometimes I jes feel so drained. When I have a problem, I really don't have anyone to listen to me or help me. "Imagine me taught by tradegy" is a line I relate to myself. |

I think its prolly about screwing up a relationship with someone too. "I heard your voice through a photograph I thought it up and brought up the past Centuriees are what it meant to me I tear it down I tear it down And then it?s born again How long how long will I slide" He stumbled upon the photo, and now its got him thinking about the past, how things were with her. He screwed up their relationship, and "centuries is what it meant to me" is saying that its been bothering him for so long. He "tears it down, but its orn again" would be him trying to get over it, but it jes keeps coming back somehow. "Pour my life into a paper cup The ashtray?s full and I?m spillin? my guts She wants to know am I still a slut Scarlet starlet and she?s in my bed A candidate for a soul mate bled" Him spilling his guts could be him confessing to the things he has done, like... cheating. Her asking if he is "still a slut" could be her asking if he has changed or is still cheating on her. "Scarlet starlet and she's in my bed" could be about him cheating. And "canadate for a soulmate bled" could be about his girlfriend maybe trying to kill herself or jes "emotional bleeding". But, thats jes the closest thing to right I could come up with. Some lines in the song don't seem to go along with that or fit in jes right, and the meaning is prolly something completely different from what I said, but who knows? |
