This song makes me almost want to like Courtney Love. You can feel her greif, even though the record was released AFTER kurt's death. Which leads me to believe that she knew it was going to happen... she could see him dying even before it happened. I people are going to use that to say the she killed him, but everyone knows that's bullshit. It's about him, obviously. |

I think the whole Alzheimer's thing is a bit too obvious. Knowing Pearl Jam's music, they tend to lean towards more abstract meanings than blunt ones. Personally, I think it's about one person realizing how he's been touched by so many people in his life that he can't remember the face of every single one. It seems to have a worn feel to it though, especially with the music. Which is maybe why people relate it to the eldery (well, besides the title.) |
