I agree that his song is about suicide. and yes, i found out about this song from"Perks" also.That book is truly amazing, as is the song.the lyrics are so honest, with a wierd mix of hope and sadness to them. really fitting for the theme of the book. I think i'm gonna go read that again... |

wow..blink puts a couple metaphors in their song and all of the sudden the song is "brilliant". i think its a good song, and better than most by them, but it's far from brilliant. Wanna hear brilliant? go listen to Cursive. thats fucking brilliant. |

I could listen to this over and over. My mom loves simon and garfunkel and has been trying for ages to get me to listen to this song, and i only just realized the greatness of it about a year ago. i love this song from start to finish, from the sweet humming in the beginning to the organ outro. it just oozes emotion and tells a story so beautifully.

There are so many different ways to interperate this song, and thats one of the things that makes it great. it doesnt matter what stage of a relationship or if you are in a relationship at all, you can relate to it. and even if you dont, i dont think there is anyone who cant appriciate the utter beauty of this music. i find it hard to listen to the lyrics because im concentrating on the gorgeousness of the instruments. or vice versa. i don't usually cry while listening to songs, but this is one of few that can get me worked up.
my family rents this cabin on lake st. clair once a year right around halloween, and last year i was just as infatuated with this song as i am now, so i brought my cd player down to the beach at night, looked up at the stars and the full moon peaking out of the clouds, and stood there listening to this song and taking all the beauty in. |

i know no one's gonna read this but i'll post anyway. My friend IM'd me last june saying that i had to download this song, and i was completely blown away. it's my favorite song. around the same time a different friend said i had to see "fight club". I was completely blown away by this as well, and it's now my favorite movie (and a damn good book also). Then a few months ago i stumbled upon the video for the song and almost peed myself. Taking back sunday combined my favorite song with my favorite movie, and turned it into a kickass music video. for those of you who havent seen it yet, download it now! |
