| The Who – Who Are You? Lyrics

much of the song is derived from actual events that pete experieced. as stated a drunken pete did in fact meet the members of the sex pistols (who, along with the rest of the punk-rock movement, were moving into older acts like the Who's terrritory) at club. The younger men unexpectedly showed their respect to the man many felt paved the way for punk. Later that night pete passed out in a random doorway in SoHo a policeman recogmized him and told the inebriated pete that he could sleep in his own bed(as opposed to a jailcell) if he could get up and walk away.
pete response: who the fuck are you? |

This is one of two songs of the Who's first new material in 20 years!
Awesome song!
Really captures the ways people look at themselves and one's self image, and how the people we make our company with can affect the way we look at ourselves.
If you havent had a chance to listen i suggest ypu download a copy asap!

great song! but people seem to be putting way to much emphasis on LOTR aspect on this and many other of the zeppelin song posts on this site. anyone whose read the books will see the obvious simularites but its not the only thing that drove Led Zeppelin in their song-writing, please no more LOTR related postings! |

| Led Zeppelin – When the Levee Breaks Lyrics

It is possible that it refers to one of the closing chapters in Grapes of Wrath in which a group of migrant workers face a damaging flood after their makeshift levee breaks but i'm sure that the songis influenced by G'sof W, the floods on the mississippi and MANY other things. |

Next to Kashmir this is my favorite zep song, its a shame it got ranked as zep's 50th best song in Q magizine, it really deserves a much better ranking. |
