tihs is such an awesome song. i agree with the 3 people above me totally..i must say my fave part of the song is this: "conversation is amazing when we're free to say things people often won't because they hate themselves these situations almost dayly have a way of making people undestand that all of us are one but isolation and division will be our destruction if we can't communicate so as I contradict myself and forget all I said...I am free" that is just...such an awesome lyric. this was always my fav hoobastank song, tho i never entirely related to the lyrics until recently. i pulled the CD out after having not listened to it and i felt like Doug was singing about my life. this guy that i'm good friends with and i've been there for and vice versa is aware that i like him, and seems to like me, despite his telling me a few weeks ago that we should "just be friends". we've gotten closer since then and: "And when I get close, you turn away There's nothing that I can do or say So now I need you to tell me the truth You know I'd do that for you" totally sums it up. hoobastank kicks ass. |

this was the first song i heard by these guys and i'm addicted to them now. they are so awesome, the CD rocks my socks, and i can't get over how good they are. this song is awesome, i want to play it for my guy friend that isn't over his ex yet because i think its hurting him to hold on to the past and this song pushes to start anew (plus i really like this guy he could start anew with me!! lol) i love T.A.A.R!!!! |

this is definitely my favorite song on their CD (which is totally awesome by the way). i think its about a guy, who really likes this girl that is still trying to put an old relationship behind her. she keeps running away from him and he doesn't want to wait for her anymore, he wants to be with her. ::shrugs:: just my opinion. the chorus, if removed from the rest of the lyrics, is the story of my life right now with this guy i like. *sigh* the all-american rejects are so fricking awesome. |

this is such an amazing song. the first time i heard it, i just got chills. the lyrics are such that EVERYONE can relate. everyone knows what its likely to be lonely and not have a clue what to do "maybe i...but what do i know?" confusion and lonliness are such common emotions, this song is awesome on so many levels. "knowing nothing is better than knowing at all..." the used kick ass. |

this is by far the best song on Avril's CD. the song is just raw emotion, and the lyrics are so amazing. i went thru a pretty rough period back around the time when i got this CD, and this song is one of those that i listened to it and felt like someone had tapped into my brain to write this song. i just think its about being lonely, wanting to find someone who truly cares about you, but not knowing where to find that person. and in the meantime, the emptiness and the confusion HURT. amazing song. just amazing. |

littlecrys is definitely right on. and reading that i totally got a new perspective on how much i relate to this song. i always felt like i could relate sort of, but in the last few months, as a close guy friend of mine who i also happen to REALLY like, has seemed to be struggling with getting over his ex, i want to be the one to "take him away from here". *sigh* this always was my fave song by her. |

i pretty much agree with everyone else's meanings..this is such an awesome song. these guys are totally awesome! i saw them open for hoobastank back in september and have been hooked ever since. i saw them again about a month ago as a headliner and if u haven't seen them live, GO! they rock, and the emotion in their performance is outstanding. amazing band! |

i agree with forkyfork, its about someone wanting to be with a person sooo bad, even tho she knows that its not meant to be. but, she can't let go.
