According to a radio interview, Jack wrote this song while he was still in college. He had a paper to write, but didn't want to write it, so he was screwing around. Originally, the line "Slow down everyone, you're moving too fast" was "Slow down Bruce, you're moving too fast", a reference to how Bruce Lee had to slow down his fighting moves because he was too fast for the camera to catch it. Of course, Jack changes the lyric later on to its current state, and we're all probably glad he did because it's more meaningful and deep than a line about, well, Bruce Lee's speed. |
