I think Bazan did that voice at the beginning in order to simulate an announcer at a store. That's what I hear. |

This is a perfect example of how an album should end. David is a great song writer and composer, but I just don't get the meaning of this song. It's titled Winners Never Quit, but later says "count it a blessing that you're such a failure." My best guess is that every one is a loser and a failure in God's eyes, but he forgives us all if we ask for it. "Your second chance might never have come," i think, means that he was forgiven but cam close. That would be my best guess, and I feel totally wrong. |

I was in the car with my cousin the otherday and we listened to this song. He asked me what it was about and i told him laziness or lonliness, and trying to fill the void with addictions. He told me that it was about masturbation, and i couldn't believe it. I listened to it for a while and started to hear why it could be about pleasuring yourself. I read through all these posts and relized that, to me, that it is about laziness. I heard from a TV show that "Idle hands spend time at the genitles, and you know how much God hates that!" Therefore it is about laziness, but the laziness leads to an addiction of masturbation for Bazan. That's what it means to me. |

Yes jebus, i've always thought of Audioslave as a water-downed Rage Against the Machine. I believe Tom Morello can play the guitar the best when his guitar read: ARM THE HOMELESS. I just like Chris' vocals more then Zach's. |

That is what he is singing:
"Drown if you want
And I'll see you at the bottom
Where you'll crawl on my skin" |

7 is usually associated with blasphamy and evil... Seven Deadly sins, seven levels of hell - Dante ect. Who knows? All I know is that this song is great. This album usually calms me down while I'm driving and I listen to it all the time. |

I forgot to mention that this song does rock, but I think it's one of the worst songs from the album... but the album is kick-ass! I can't wait to see them at Lollapalooza! |

If you read on the Audioslave website before the album came out, you coul've read the meaning to this song.
It's about the last Native American Indian Chief, name; Cochise, to die a free Indian outside of reservations. He spent the final years of his life banding together other Native Americans to defy against the the settlers. They sacked towns and burnded buildings. He was caught and killed.
This song has nothing to due with Chris's past... Unless you really want to think so ;) |
