| Weezer – Falling For You Lyrics

Has anyone else noticed the reoccuring theme throughout Pinkerton? Rivers obviously wrote many of the songs while in some stage of falling for a girl, it is easy to see the different steps that he took, The Good Life, El Scorcho, Pink Triangle, Tired of Sex, Why Bother?, Getchoo, Across the Sea, and definately Falling For You too. He goes through wanting a relationship, to finding this girl that he is head over heels for (maybe a japanese girl (Across the Sea, El Scorcho) who plays the cello, then being reluctant to commit, then thinking that she is too good for him, then he starts to do stuff with her a he is totally i love with her, and then something happens, probably she lies (No Other One; a lot poems, songs, and novels start with lines like this that come from person experience and then the writer releases his emotions after it), and he wishes that he was free again. All of these steps are normal, I know I've been through them. These are very personal songs and that is why they are SO great. Rivers really put his heart and soul into these songs, no wonder why he got depressed when no body bought the album and the critics gave it bad reviews. |

One of my alltime favorites, Bruce captures the angst and craving for freedom that is so deeply enbedded in all males. Its just such a "real" song, nothing like what you see written in today's pop or hip-hop scene, although there is still a little hope in today's rock. We will never see another line as classic as, "You ain't a beauty, but hey, you're all right" |

This song is wonderful and Weezer is the greatest band ever. Comparing Dashboard to Weezer is just sad, it like comparing McDonalds to In-N-Out Burger, there really is no comparison, Dasboard is just a cheap impression of the real thing. If you aren't from the west coast then ask someone who is just how wonderful In-N-Out is. =w= |

This song describes a feeling of despire and seperation from something loved that is SO real. The melody and lyrics blend together so well leaving the listener with a real feeling of what the writer was feeling and experiencing when he wrote this. This is by far one of their best songs. It takes me back to when my best friend moved away a few years ago and i would sit on my window seat looking through my blinds at the stars and planes as they flew by in the distance. It really is a moving song.
Leave it to a Weezer fan to compare part of this song to Knight Rider, thats awesome. =w= |

Wow, someone nailed it on the head, or so it seems. I just think that it is one of the most beautifuly complex songs with an all around appeal. It reminds me of Fade to Black or El Scorcho, all great songs that can be argued about for years, although El Scorcho isn't seemingly as serious it is, but in a different way, check it if you want to; J E W, Weezer, and the a lot of Metallica songs are truly rare and special, especially in a world ruled by poeple who sell entire albums devoted to the money, cars, drugs, and hoes. |

this is the greatest song. the emotions expressed by the lyrics are great, yes, but what makes this song SO great and different from almost all other songs heard in today's culture, especially pop and hip-hop, is the emotions expressed through the actual music. after the lyrics stop you can almost feel the torment the writer was going through when he wrote each note, it is truly inspired. try, next time you hear it, to ignore the lyrics and just focus on the emotion that the guitar insites in you, you cant do this with most songs, its great. |

Rivers is too complex to have this song be about the fans, I think, fromseeing him onstage and talking with Pat, the drummer, that he appreciates the fans, and its obvious that he enjoys the energy of the crowd. But he is a little crazy, which is why his music is so wonderful. I was doing security and the head of his tour security staff told my supervisor to have none of the people working backstage to look at him because it makes him uncomfortable. If you read the article in Guitar WOrld you can get a real good feel for who Rivers is and what he's gone through, then you can have a better chance trying to understand what Rivers meant when he wrote SLob, or any of his other songs |

I got to see this song while standing on the side of the stage with my brother. We were so close that when the pyrotechniques went off we had to lean back because of the heat. A few perks to being well liked by your supervisors when you do concert security. That one concert was the only reason we applyed for the jobs in the first place, so i guess you can say, mission accomplished. This is my favorite song, just behind El Scorcho that is |

It is definately Rivers on the vocals, I worked security backstage at a Weezer concert this past summer and was talking with the drummer, Pat Wilson, and I brought up some of the songs that claim to be by Weezer, this one being my favorite, and he set me straight, you guys all had it figured out, good job, I just thought I would give a little conformation to the arguement on if it is actually Rivers singing or not. |

This song was my favorite instantly from the first time I heard it. Last spring I was on Prom court and one teacher filmed us, the court, going around school for a whole week and then he edited the footage to a recorded thank you message that we were supposed to say to our friends and family. I didn't particularly like the idea, so my friend and I tgrabbed his guitar, shaved off some of the lyrics for time constrainsts, and 10 minutes later we had recorded our own version of for my video El Scorcho. They waited to show my video last at the Prom dance, and everyone was laughing so hard from it, because the entire time I was running away from the guy with the camera, hiding under desks, picking up my drama teacher and hiding my face behind his back while I ran around, etc. Everyone was laughing so loudly that I didn't even hear them announce that I was Prom King at first. Anyways, it was the best time i've ever had and its all thanks to the greatest song in the world!!!!!! |

| Elton John – Rocket Man Lyrics

It is clear that whoever wrote this song, wether it be Elton or his lyricist, used the life of an astronaut to symbolize whatever theme they were trying to get across to the listener. That theme, it seems is either the seperation from reality due to drugs or a lifestyle that they are forced to live, or the seperation of themselves and someone they love. It is definately not just about an astronaut although the words are that doesn't mean Jack when you are talking about songs, books, and poems. If you took everything at face value then the stories of Oliver Twist and Guliver's Travelers were about a young poor boy and a guy with a bunch of tiny poeple, and they would have not caused the drastic reforms that they caused in England. So, in conclusion, the song about the effects of drug abuse or personal detatchment through the sybolism of the life of an astronaut. |
