I actually agree with spazmeat's first impression of this song. With the line that says "his pupil was wide open" it gives me the impression that harder drugs, in this case acid, just weren't for him. It's an easy step to see how 421 means the the next step after 420, or how acid or another "hard" drug is the next step after weed. |

i voted and i voted for bush. i dont see this song or this album as muh anti bush as it is anti establishment. i think there is a lot of angst towards both sides. also i think the album is more about the fucked up world of the so called "perfect suburbia" and most of the political statements are on a local level not a national |

i love dearly beloved. classic green day . this whole album is the best since pink floyd came out with the wall. and to rhcprox that fact that they're borrowing ideas from other bands makes them more originol to me. to take someone elses music and make it your own requires amazing talent. if anyoone reads this i would really like to discuss this album and what it means with someone. i think it would be fun since there is so many ways to interpet it. if you would like to discuss or have a website explaining te album e-mail me at cdubb4201@hotmail.com or aim me at pilot789.
