Nobody commented on this? Awesome song. Can't claim to be too familiar with John Cage, but the way Downie sings on this track is quite disturbing, and it's gotta be the hardest song I've ever heard from The Hip. |

I first heard this song while I was asleep and my friend was watching the TV. This song was playing and it crept into my dreams. For some reason I dreamt that Rutger Hauer was singing it to Kristy Swanson. The next morning I asked my friend if he was listening to Tragically Hip, and he was like "Yeah, it's their new song, it rocks." Then I asked him if he was watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer or something, and he was like "No." So I guess I'm a nut. |

The sound of the song is kind of dark. Like there's something lurking beneath the surface of the happy lyrics. Everytime I hear this song, I picture a guy who has killed his girlfriend and then erased the incident from his mind. He sings to her as if she's still there.
