| Fischerspooner – The 15th Lyrics | 17 years ago |

This song was originally by the band Wire and so I take it in that context to probably about punk music as a scene and cultural phenomenon. Here's the correct lyrics, copied from the Wire entry with the parenthesesed (spelling?) parts being my commentary: Reviewed, it seemed As if someone were watching over it Before it was As if response were based on fact (It seemed like punk had to happen because it filled a space that had to be filled, it seemed planned but it really happened because of the revolutionary spark in mankind, etc.) Providing, deciding, it was soon there Squared to it, faced to it, it was not there (Getting together, making the rules, that shit was easy. Getting shit done, making it count, not so much.) Renewed, it fought As if it had a cause to live for Denied, it learned As if it had sooner been destroyed (Punk came again after the first wave of bands. It was like the concept of punk, an abstract ideology, was anthropomorphic and was fighting to preserve itself. But then, it died and came back again as a commercial thing, just like everything else was and was no longer special, as if it had sooner been destroyed.) Providing, deciding, it was soon there Squared to it, faced to it, it was not there Reviewed, it fought As if someone were watching over it Before it had sooner been denied Renewed, it seemed As if it had a cause to live for Destroyed, it was later based on fact (The winners write history and punk is now whatever we make of it, and just as some people can look at the emergence of punk scenes and get the strength to change the world from it, people can also look at punk and use it to sell t-shirts.) |

These lyrics were submitted really well; also, this song is one of the most beautifully put together and uplifting songs I've ever heard. I think the meaning is that trying to do well and be happy is the first step in doing well and being happy. |

| It's the "mic and plates of America". Plates being the decks, obviously. | |
| Grand Buffet – We're Into This Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Not just luxuries; specifically Iguanadon's sick of being asked to pay for these culty losers drugs via begging. I think the second verse has to do with why they formed GB3; science slew the dragons, and society killed the scientists, and Jackson didn't wanna end up like that so they use music as their medium? |

| They Might Be Giants – Why Must I Be Sad? Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Is this whole song about Alice Cooper? I never really noticed before but my boss at the store i work at is a huge Alice Cooper fan and he's been telling me tons of stuff about the guy lately, about his alchoholism and divorces and stuff. There are tons of Alice Cooper song and album titles in this song. That is so wierd. So, then, this song is basicaly portraying Alice Cooper as a reluctant Christ? Am I right? |

| The Tragically Hip – Escape Is At Hand For The Travellin' Man Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
This is my favourite Hip song. It is about taking just a little bit too much time to get with a person. It is about missed chances and about regret and about self-doubt. The part where he describes how he is feeling through the titles of the songs the band he is hearing plays is just freaking brilliant. |

OK, if banks and cruise lines can use a Iggy Pop song about heroin addiction in their commercials, then there's nothing wrong with the obscure lyrics of a Hip song. My only real point of contention is that it's not about a GAY porn. |

| The Flaming Lips – Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 1 Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Close, pkjun, exdcept 3021 is like a gladiator bot that's supposed to kill Yoshimi in an arena match or something, and he can't because he loves her too much. Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots pt. 2 is the actual fight happening; Yoshimi kills 3021 and then that's the end of the story, I guess. (Got this info from the Lips site) |

| Daft Punk – One More Time Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| Word on the street is that this isn't "Does scuzza like this song.com". You have to listen to this track on headphones to hear all the layers' Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx and others are doing to electronica what RUN D.M.C. did to rap: making it album oriented. | |
