Given the fact that I am writing about this a year after darkwolf doesn't have all the answers at the time he wrote his post. Some thought searching for a former clarity was bad; new wave is so far from the tree it is like a different band.
New wave has been out for a while and lets face it they did just what they said they would, they sold out. I think it tears the band up but I am sure the extra money soothes wounds. I think new wave is an over produced piece of soul less crap. I think what makes it all that much worse is that against me! have lost the "real" passion and put on a mask of fake MTV head banging "punk" passion. Agianst me! had such a raw passion and love of what they are doing in their early albums that you can hear slowly wane as the release dates progress, but doing the same thing must get old. You can only right one song once.
Why can't the record labels, bands and casual music fans learn that music is not something that should be for sale. Music and money don't mix well except in the sustaining of music. The best songs bands write are when they are struggling and just living and the music is an outlet. As soon as the music is everything and it is a job you what do you have to write about. I think here in this song they were singing about the only thing they had left. The again maybe I am taking this to seriously and it is just entertainment, maybe music is just he background noise to the shopping mall of out lives. |

I think the song is about how lonely a city can be even when you are surrounded by people. I can't interpret the lyrics about finding a pearl in the snow and the first verse I don't think the fit well. |

It Pains me I mean I feel sick when i think what happend to this band. Its like The Offspring with their cd SMASH that was their best it was so damn good but than they just move on and change thier sound to conform to what they need to be big. Fungus amongus is a very unique cd its FUNKY, There is nothing like it and compared to new Incubus even science you realize that their new stuff is crap. I pray that incubus could see this and go back to doing what they are good at which is being Original. if incubus did now what they did back in the early 90s it could easily become a tottaly new era of music.
Dont get me wrong incubus is still a very talented band but why cnat they cant do some more funky things like on fungus amongus. They are a big enough band to try new things or in this case old things.
To defy the laws of tradition.

I think this song does mean something. I think its a take on The Arisocats becasue the main cat in the movie was Tom o'Malley. And i beleave there was an O'malleys alley. |
