| Timbaland – Apologize Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think the line 'I m afraid" has two meanings when paired with the next line 'that its too late to apologize : I m fearful that its too late to apologize and I m sorry that its too late to apologize And although the singer is male, I think the lines could be a girl or a guy, I know that I feel strongly enough about the song. |

Seems to me the guy in the song is just delusional. He kisses this girl and already hes imagining that shes going off with another guy. He knows hes just imagining, but he can't stop thinking that shes cheating. And maybe he wants her to cheat because theres a line that goes Jealousy, turning saints into the sea Meaning that his jealousy could be destroying his perception of her, could be making him cast her away But it’s just the price I pay Destiny is calling me He has some kind of ego problem. He thinks, oh well, I must suffer if shes really cheating because I m going to be a martyr |

I m thinking that 5% of all the post here are actually about the song... Some fight club references(I think the lyrics refer more to the book than the movie): Angel: In the book, there is a guy that the narrator refers to as "Miister Angel face" I know exactly whats going on: Irony, the narrator is continually in the dark until the last few chapters When everything you'll get is everything that you've wanted, princess: Probably addressing Marla Singer A thousand clever lines unread on clever napkins: All the haikus the narrator was writing during his "enlightment" I will never ask if you don't ever tell me: The narrator doesn't talk about Tyler And all of this was all your fault: The narrator believes that Marla was the reason Tyler appeared She'll destroy us all before she's through: Marla does help the narrator destroy Tyler |

Actual lyrics are: Rejected...since day one My name is...bastard son I've been damned...so many times I've lost count Blue collar...working man Devises...masterplan Bi-polar...with a mental side arm I'm sick and I'm twisted, I'm broken you can't fix it, don't make me cause I'll do it, red button and we'll all go... Into the river below...running from the inferno... You'll think I'm insane but you'll all know my name Into the river below...running from the inferno... I'll take all the blame, the front page and the fame Contraption...made up of Nuts and bolts...creates the New monster...to burn your family tree down Tick-tocking...times up now Split second...the world frowns Lonely heart...never had nobody I'm sick and I'm twisted, I'm broken you can't fix it, don't make me cause I'll do it, red button and we'll all go... Into the river below...running from the inferno... You'll think I'm insane but you'll all know my name Into the river below...running from the inferno... I'll take all the blame, the front page and the fame |

| I just read some of that writing, and my head exploded. | |

Oh, man, oh man... Freestyle schizophrenic high talk. Anyways, the song reminds me of Catch-22, Yossarian's little thing in the war. |

| George Michael – Faith Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| I thought that he at first wanted the person to go, and then "reconsidered his foolish notion"? | |
| Green Day – Who Wrote Holden Caulfield? Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| I think the first part of the song may be Holden talking to his sister. | |
| Simon and Milo – Sucks To Be You Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| Ah, brings back memories to when 'sucks to be you' was THE catchprase at my high school... | |
| Simon and Garfunkel – Mrs. Robinson Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| Yeah, its not a reference from the beatles, the songs were released pretty close. Google was no use in finding "coo coo ca-choo". | |
| Lars Frederiksen And The Bastards – To Have And To Have Not Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| This is pretty good. | |
| The Presidents of the United States of America – Peaches Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Double meanings? Yeah, could be. But I still like this song a lot. | |
| Queens of the Stone Age – No One Knows Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
Actually, the song is directed to someone... the rules could be the unwritten rules of dating, the guy realizes what hes gotten himself into (And I realize you?re mine), their relationship is just him giving into her demands(Pleasently caving in), and he can't see a way out(Of the mind with no hope), and he doesn't know what he gains from the relationship (A gift that you give to me No one knows). |
|
| Eminem – Superman Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| This could be why he doesn't like the woman hes singing to: "I'd never love you enough to trust you, we just met and I just f*cked you." Maybe he wants someone with morals? I think that women would want to save HIM. | |
| Christina Aguilera – Dirrty (feat. Redman) Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Well, she did make 'Beautiful' to make up for this. Is sex empowerment? | |
| Matthew Good Band – Indestructible Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| My flavour of the month right now. Reminds me of the X-men, someone who keeps coming back? Maybe hes making fun of when people say 'I'll be with you forever'? Someone who loves this person so much they're willing to let the other person make their own mistakes? | |
| B*witched – C'est La Vie Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| One hit wonder? They haven't come out with anything else since. | |
| Treble Charger – Hundred Million Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Sum 41, Swollen Members, Avril Lavigne and Treble Charger are Canadian. So now you know. | |
| Our Lady Peace – Somewhere Out There Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| This song is kind of like Treble Charger's 'Hundred Million', they're trying to get into the mainstream stuff, but alienating some of their older fans. But at least they have 'Innocent' to make up for it. | |
| Radiohead – Street Spirit (Fade Out) Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Well, I thought it was about this paranoid schizophrenic who thought the world would end. Fading out is when he is on medication and can't remember anything. | |
| Taking Back Sunday – Cute Without The 'E' (Cut From The Team) Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Is anyone going to talk about all the references to Fight Club? Pretty good song from the point of view of the Narrator(Jack). | |
| Vertical Horizon – Everything You Want Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
Well, I think its about this social guy, who is dating this girl, and shes really one of those clueless, outcast types. Their relationship is kind of sporadic because she doesn't fit into his life and doesn't understand anything. So, since she doesn't know what to do, she just doesn't do anything, and the guy is frustrated because he doesn't understand why she can't relate to him. |
