yeah the new ataris album sounds completely different but i don't think it is pop. it is just a little softer or slower. they played an all acoustic set way back at this small venue at Chain Reaction if anyone was there, that was a little slower but still kicked ass, ataris are amazing live new shit or old |

seriously, good charlotte is the biggest sell out band ever please do not ever compare The Ataris to them ever...EVER!!! The Used has at least some lyrical content and distinct sound, suck live or not. But back to Ataris, this song is one of their best, with an special emphasis on bringing it back to the old school days of nintendo and karate kid...it's all about the 80's, i mean what can beat the era of the mullet. |

This is a great song, but i think it's a little less about how thing use to be better and more about the way that they inevitably change. It seems to be about someone leaving middle america, much like kris, and giving it all up for someone else. trying to leave for a better life and ironically travelling around never finding it..."Trailer parks, neon signs, and an empty box of Lucky Strikes: all used up from the dashboard of America". in either case what you leave behind does not wait for you things fall and people change and die..."You'll be saddened to know the train tracks you once walked as a young boy are now nothing but a graveyard". |
