ghost man on third.. its a clever title isnt it. actually, when you play like sandlot baseball often you dont have enough players to field a team. so what we kids used to do is, when someone had a hit but couldnt stay on the bag cause they were up again, theyd say ghostman on whatever bag they were on. example- i get a double but then im up again id say ghostman on second and id go up to bat again if i got a single my ghostman would move one base, and so on according the my hit. so ghost man on thrid would be where he used to be on third. now my interpretation of this is, hes done with an old relationship, hes still hurt and there are still feelings but hes moved on hes up to bat again, so looking for other girls, but he still left part of himself in the last relationship or on third..or same idea but he almost was at home.. ie getting what he wanted, but it wasnt working so he left to go back up to back leaving the ghostman on thrid.. hopefully someone else can pull out some more interpretations..nevertheless i hope that made sense and cleared that up for ya.. TBS is amazing and i hope they fix everything life wouldnt be the same without them |

I think everyone here is missing a very critical part of this song... *If you need me ,I'm out and on the parkway, patient and waiting for headlights, dressed in a fashion that's fitting to the inconsistencies of my moods*... lyrcially this may be one of TBS most clever uses of the english language. they describe without telling the suicidal tendency of the indivudal.. in the parkway patient and waiting for headlights... hes obviously trying to get hit by a car, or doesnt care if he does. dressed in a fashion that's fitting to the inconsistencies of my moods, my take on this is, its a metaphor saying hes wearing all his troubles... they fit his instability... i could be wrong there, but its eloquently put nonetheless, this song is a real tribute to the lyrical genius that is taking back sunday. regardless these guys are incredible and anyone with two eyes, ear and a brain should purchase their cd and see them live. you wont regret it! |

uhh a two part question.. is it just me or is anyone else picking up some sexual innuendo with.. "these grass stains on my knees they wont mean a thing" maybe its just me?? let me know... second off.. me being a canuck here ive never heard the term "lush" before if someone could help me out with the meaning thatd be sweet ... the dictionary gives a couple different ones so any help would be awesome... thanks.. |
