| The Decemberists – The Bagman's Gambit Lyrics

This song is much better live.
This song is also very depressing to me. The last line,
"And in the wave of an arm, you were there and gone"
is what really gets me. The feeling was even moreso when I heard this song in concert. Amazing. |

| Neutral Milk Hotel – Oh Comely Lyrics

After finding that most of this album has somethign to do with Anne Frank, these lines have become very powerful to me:
"And I know they buried her body with others
Her sister and mother and 500 families
And will she remember me 50 years later
I wished I could save her in some sort of time machine." |

| Radiohead – Let Down Lyrics

I think this song is about death, and how it isn't that much of a big deal, especially when the person lives his life locked into a society he/she can't stand and as an alcoholic. It says not to get upset when a loved one dies, because those feelings are not for any good use. Depending on how one lives, death can be a blessing. |

This is my favorite song on the album... It reminds me of last summer because we would sit in my friend's basement, and this album is one we would listen to a whole lot. Last summer was the best time of my my life. This album, especially this song, holds immense nostalgic value to me, I love it. |

Wow, this song continues to amaze me even after listening to it an uncountable amount of times. It's one of those songs that I wonder how on earth they thought of such genius material. My favorite Radiohead song, if not my favorite song ever. |

I think that Pink is admitting to himself that he created the wall which is blocking his mind from reality. |

| Tool – Lateralus Lyrics

I think this song tells us to step back and look at life in a different light and make the best out of every situation you come across.
I also think this is Tool's best song, and maybe the best song I have ever heard. The structure of this song is so perfect. The way it dies down in the middle and rises up to an amazing crescendo is incredible. |

I think this song is just about depression, and how he just wants to stay away from everybody. He forces himself not to listen to anybody. |

I think this song is about something which is troubling a person and this thing come back every day ("Polar oppsites don't push away," "I'm trying to drink away the part of the day
That I cannot sleep away") and the only way to escape the depression or any other bad feeling is to resort to alcoholism. |

This song is so incredibly depressing. Donnie Darko is probably one of the best movies I have ever seen, and this song is great for the movie. Whenever i listen to this song i always feel the need to listen to it over and over again because i like it so much and it never gets old. |

i dont understand the lyrics too much but
"and it took a long time
i came clean with myself
i come clean out of love with my lover
i still love her
loved her more when she used to be sober and i was kinder"
is really depressing. this whole song is very depressing. not really the lyrics but the how to song sounds and how he sings. |

i think this song is about war. "look closely at that open wound, see past what covers the surface. underneath chaotic catastrophe, creation takes the stage." i think that if we look past all of the horrible things about war such as guns and mass killing, we gain from it. we learn something about society and can build upon what we learn to make today's society better to live in. |
