Bad Religion – Turn on the Light Lyrics 23 years ago
I'm of the general opinion that this song deals with personal aspect of smoking and addiction. "for a miniscule duration, ecstatic immolation, incorrigible delight". The "friend" realizes the temporary delight, but also that it is a horrid thing he's doing.

Bad Religion – It Must Look Pretty Appealing Lyrics 23 years ago
An excellent song about the apparant fondness of a simple life. "Ignorance is bliss..." in song form.

Bad Religion – Billy Lyrics 23 years ago
Billy is Brett. He is an ex-crack addict and the song it is deliberately autobiographical.

Probably the best song Brett ever wrote.

Bad Religion – Chasing the Wild Goose Lyrics 23 years ago
"It seems the game is mostly pointless in the presence of the prize." Greg is a poet. There's nothing more that can be said.

Bad Religion – Along the Way Lyrics 23 years ago
Lyrically, this is one of the best BR songs ever written. So simple, yet so encompassing, this song is truely a roadmap for life (along the way is an obvious analogy for living in society). There are so many morals and trueisms in this song, it's almost astounding.

Bad Religion – Better Off Dead Lyrics 23 years ago
The key to this song is realizing it's a STF Mr. Brett song. As such, it doesn't contain any of the sweeping generalizations about society that Greg would write about, but more of the personal issues Brett is so fond of. To me, the narrator of the song is being blamed for someone else problems, and he's retorting sarcastically that he didn't create the world and their troubles. All in all, a catchy tune, but not one of their best.
