No, I do not believe the UK is any better than the US. I think we are just smaller, less powerful, and therefor we are not able to exert as much influence. If we could, our ruling class would do the same as the US ruling class. Same is true of France, Germany, etc.
What I believe Anti-Flag are trying to say, is that the US is in such a condition that it needs urgent change. I do not believe they are patriotic to the US government, or the US system, or the US constitution, or any other ruling class piece of tat... but I do believe they love the US people. There's a big difference.
thats true. and also, i was the one who said that the gov't doesnt really affect people under the age of 18 here since we're not legal adults. i know it affects us in some ways (school, like u said), but my point was, theres nothing we can do about it since we cant vote or anything else.
and i didn't say america was the best country in the world. we do have more problems then lots of countries. i did say it was ONE OF the best, which i believe it is along with many european countries and australia, and others that actually have rights.
i think people waste too much time fighting about their opinions on this stuff. i know, very hippocritical of me to say that since i have made many-a-post on here about it. im not tryint to fight or prove im right or anything. i just think people should try to live with what they have, and if they absolutley can't stand it then move, or get yourself into a position where you can actually effect whatever it is you dont like. |

hey word bird....haha...i like your post! i dont think u have issues at all, lots of people think that homosexuality is wrong. i dont think that they all deserve to die or ne thing, but yes, i think it is unnatural and gross. that dosent make anyone closed minded, thats just an opinion. i personally think that if your a cool nice person and you dont try to force your views or lifestyle on people then it doesnt matter how u like your sex. i have gay friends that are way awesome, and theres some gays that i cant fucking stand kuz thayre flamers and think they deserve special rights or something kuz they like it in the ass. that bothers me. but yes again, i think if your a good person then theres nothing wrong with being gay or bi or whatever sex u like, its really nobody else's business.

when i first heard this song i didnt listen to the words, and based on the melody i fealt it as kind of a depressing song, and when it said "i will lay me down" i thought of kind of giving up. then i listened to the words and found the lyrics and it was not that at all...one of the best songs ever written, simple, but amazing. so moving. it can relate to everyone. |

i havent taken the time to read all 79 entries for this song, but i will say the obvious this is one of the best songs ever written, definetly one of the best nofx songs, i love how the music changes throughout the song, so u get a few different styles and moods all in one. as far as this govt stuff goes, i think its stupid that there has to be different categories (republican, democrat, etc.) because people can say "i hate all republicans" or "i hate all democrats" but the truth is that it just depends on the person whos running, if thayre a good leader it doesnt matter which category thayre in. theres never been a perfect government, and anarchy would never actually work. people need to stop fighting about the damn government unless they are in a position where they can actually do something about it. ive said it many times, and i'll say it again, complain about it all u want, but IT AINT GONNA CHANGE A THING! if your gonna vote at all, register as independent, that way your not on either side. |

u know what, after i came back and read over my own comment thats up there, i'll admit my own errors...i guess emoshun, your right, they technically did not "sell out"...i also heard the used long ago on good old mp3.com, that used to be where i got all my music from. i guess it was just like one day everyone was obsessed with them, and then when they cancelled our show to go on mtv everyone got really mad. they couldnt really sell out since they only have 1 full cd, as far as i know. i never said im "2 kewel for mainstream" or whatever, and i never said they wouldnt come out with a new cd ever again. it seems to me like thayre following in the footsteps of linkin park. they have been around for a long time, but never really come out with a lot of new stuff... im sure they will, i just think its kind of funny how a band can go from ozzfest, to trl to be the new poster children. maybe its worse where i live, where u have like little 8 year olds running around like "the used is the best! yeay! im a punk rawka!" and if they wanna do that, then good for them. the truth is, i never was really excited by them since i heard them. their sound isnt bad, thayre good musicians and the guys voice is really good, their music just doesnt have that thing that really stands out. but thats just my opinion. regardless of how suddenly popular they got and how much i just dont feel their music, the thing that really got me was when they cancelled the show here to go on trl, and to me trl is just like a big fat money pit. i mean, at least when alkaline trio cancelled their show here they had reason, matt ruptured his vocal chords and couldnt preform, and everyone got refunds. all the people i know that had tickets to the used show didnt even get their money back which was shit. but whatever, im done here, insult me as much as u want, and correct me if u feel the need |

at this point if afi goes big and gets popular, i also believe that its their time if thats what they want. they have been around for so long, and accomplished so much that their history makes up for anything that might cause them to "sell out". anyways all the knowlegeable afi fans know the history right? i think that history is the most important thing for a sucessful band. the shit sell out bands are the ones with NO history at all, that just make one record and all of a sudden thayre the new poster boys (or girls, whatever) for the kids like lilpunkergirl who turned "punk rawk" when they heard blink182's amazing intellectually stimulating songs. afi has made their mark on rock music, so please, if you dont know their history stop talking like you know everything about them.

here comes one from an afi fan of a long time....ive listened to afi for quite a while, and if you also have, then you know what im talking about. every single one of their cds is different. if u listen u can even hear daveys vocals change from like punkish yelling to really deep melody. i dont think that afi has "sold out" so to speak...yes they are getting more popular and their music has changed, but if u know afi then your used to each of their cd's being a little different so it shouldnt be that big of a surprise. if you really loved the very proud of ya and answer that style that they used to have, then this cd will be a dissappointment to you, because its nothing like it. i like some songs on it, but i think that black sails was by far their best. the vocals got really amazing and the music its self was way cleaner...excellent album. i get to see afi this week for the first time, im way excited because theyve never had a show close to me. |

well they did it alright...the used sold out. diched a local tour to go on mtv trl like the money hogs they are. the used (and boxcar racer) is the new n'sync. talk about having no pride with themselves. they could have done good stuff, but they chose to sell out and doom themselves to a quick career. this is the type of band that will make like 1 cd thats a hit and play concerts off of it for like 2 years until they get old and people stop likening them. too bad |
