| Jack's Mannequin – Miss California Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I really think this song is about kidnap/murder. "When they can't find you, you'll turn into a mystery. But you're no mystery to me." "When they can't find you I'm sure I'll be the one they blame/but they can't prove anything" I don't know why but Black Dahlia jumps to mind but I think that's because its one of the most prominent murder in Cali because nothing really points to case specifics there. |

I agree with this but I think it ends in murder. "When they can't find you I'm sure I'll be the one they blame but they can't prove anything..." |

| Mumford & Sons – The Cave Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I see (and relate) this this interpretation. It's overall about independence, so I see both ways of identifying this song. I can see it leaving a relationship to learn yourself but eventually going back; sometimes you need to leave to make yourself a better person for your significant other. | |
| Two Door Cinema Club – I Can Talk Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I definitely think it has to do with being institutionalized for "mental problems" that sometimes aren't really there but the possible explanation of what's going on with that person is something in the gray area; no proven by fact and science. The obsession with hyper deficit disorder, being drugged up for depression before actually running tests (happened to me - I wasn't depressed; I had a thyroid problem!), even things that can't be explained - people being able to have good predictions of future events, feelings of events happening, etc. You won't believe what I tell you, - Crazy ideas, predictions, certain drugs can make reality/dream very hazy White coats and clever minds will choose - Dr.'s choose what you have, how to treat, etc. often ignoring a lot of symptoms or ideas [You get a lot from this Loose tongue and arrogance It's not appropriate Don't think that this is it] - Anyone who has seen a specialist has probably met one who has treated the patient more as a case study than a person; I know I have. If you go to university health clinics; the doctors or student aids are bad about it. [Now I can talk, no one gets off (I know how you like to) Now I can talk, no one gets off] - Perhaps it was a kid that was forced into treatment but upon turning 18 was able to force their own hand and opinion in their treatment. Sometimes parents prefer to stuff their kid with drugs to cover problems, make things appear easier - the doctors gleeing over their child case study subject, that sort of thing. Now that the kid is 18, he can shove this aside and "talk" about what they want. [A longer sentence brings no more Than one that I had said before] - Further explaining feelings, emotions, etc. makes no difference when a doctor is deadset on what they've decided to treat you for [It's hard to compromise When I see through your eyes It's just a common view I guess it's lost on you] - Dr/patient differing opinions. Perhaps the kid had premonitions or some "power" that the doctors were drugging over because its something not scientifically proven and accepted. Who can see the future? The "common view" is scientifically proven and lost of doctors who hide behind facts. I do love tambellina's theory. |

| A Silent Film – You Will Leave A Mark Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I definitely agree with this. | |
| Incubus – Let's Go Crazy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| The monologue sort of startled me at first, but I love it. A lot of these 'b-sides' are really decent - heck, I prefer them over Light Grenades. Maybe because a few of these were from before the Light Grenades period and are just seeing the light of day? | |
| Incubus – Diamonds and Coal Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Where did the good ole days go? It's called maturing. Bands change over time and if you adore them, you'll accept it (maybe not like it, but accept it). I love this song. My boyfriend and I saw them in concert a few nights ago and this song just fits our current relationship so much. We've started fighting a lot but we're not going to break up...after three years, we've been through too much to let some silly fights ruin everything. I loved this song when it first came out but now I'm in love with this song after hearing it live! |

| Long Since Forgotten – Considering You Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I love this song...this band needs to get some credit. | |
| Tegan and Sara – Take Me Anywhere Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I think it's about a girl with a lot of imperfections and a guy who loves her, even with all of those imperfections. you say you don't see any part of me To love in all this mess and I know You take the good and all the bad that comes with me Take me by the hand and tell me You would take me anywhere |
|
| Rooney – If It Were Up To Me Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| haha, yeah, I also think it's about marriage. He's proposed and she's not quite sure if they're ready yet and he's trying to convince her how perfect they are for eachother. | |
| Incubus – Neither of Us Can See Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Oh yeah, as for my interpretation: I think it's about someone who was told their whole life they are unique, smart, extraordinary, blah blah blah. It kind of created an errogant idea of themself. They entered all those contests to prove their intelligence (like, national spelling bees, speech, etc. etc.) and always won. ("Blinking neon roadside attraction"). You know, 4.0 GPA, Harvard U, etc. Then, along the path of life, they meet someone else that is just like them - who was told they were unique, extraordinary, the next Einstein. That's when they both come to realise that they really aren't so unique - there are millions of people just like them that could match them step for step. They realise they are mortal, they bleed, etc. They thought they knew everything, but come to realise how wrong that is - they too are just players in a game of life. Yeah...I get deep with my incubus lyrics, haha. |
|
| Incubus – Neither of Us Can See Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Who is Chrissie Hynde? Bad question, I have the internet, I can check it out. I heard incubus play with song on Jay Leno and wasn't so impressed - maybe because Jay Leno's studio has horrific acoustics? Either way, when I heard the recorded version of this, I loved it - the two voices really melt together well. | |
| Saves the Day – Tomorrow Too Late Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
haha, I think everyone was a little put off on this album. It also seems like a lot of people have come around to it. I like it a lot - I like how Saves the Day evolves. A band that never changes their sound is not that talented. Such a good song. It makes me wanna cry too - and I hear a 'zillion'. I have a long distance relationship - it feels a lot like this. Except it's his deoderant, not perfume. |

| Incubus – Make a Move Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Kudos to Zetsumei! I don't listen to rap, but ya know something? I still think this song is fucking awesome. I was actually watching music videos this morning on fuse (I haven't done this in over a year) and I almost dropped my cereal bowl, I was so happy to see incubus come on - I didn't even know they had this song out. I felt like such a bad fan. Man...I wanna see these guys in concert again (for the third time...no, I'm not obsessed). |

Wow, I so didn't think I was right about the Vietnam Memorial. You have no idea how happy that just made me. haha. I'm such a loser. |
|
| Audioslave – Be Yourself Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| OK, Cornell, I love the man to death (OK, his looks and his vocals). The man has been singing since what? '87? Early soundgarden days, he was yelling/belting lyrics. Towards the mid '90s he finally started singing with Soundgarden. Then he got more mellow on his solo effort with Euphoria Morning (an album not enough people give credit to). Mainly, he's put so much stress on his vocal chords and never learned how to properly sing. The early Soundgarden days really really hurt his vocal chords, but started taking its toll on him later. Honestly, I loved their first album (Audioslave's), but there were some parts where I had to cringe a little because Chris can't really yell anymore without his voice getting gravely and rough. I think his voice sounds cleaner again though - maybe not from properly learning how to sing, but from getting back into the whole vocal thing and his voice retraining itself for the yells of lyrical passion (don't ask). The guy has never really taken care of his voice. What also helps though is if he did go through rehab and is now clean - alcohol will really really wreck havoc on your chords. | |
| Audioslave – Your Time Has Come Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Wow. Sorry, this reminds me of something that could've been off the Down on the Upside album, replacing Tom's mad guitar skills for Kim's more mellow guitar. As for the 50,000 names etched in stone, that could easily be the Vietnam Memorial wall in D.C. since 58,000 died in Vietnam War. It could be any war memorial though. I don't know, I kinda think it's clever, but I like it whenever music puts historical facts in their music. |

| I know, I love this song too. it's cute. :) | |
| Something Corporate – Heroine Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| ok, maybe I don't know SoCo like I thought I did, but this whole more electric sounding thing just doesn't feel them - this sounds pure SoCo. but maybe because their first song I heard was "Woke Up In a Car" and that was piano so I feel like it's the original sound of them. | |
| Earlimart – Heaven Adores You Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Such a good song. And no one has commented on ANYTHING. So good people, so good. | |
| Lovedrug – Paper Scars Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I love this song. Why no comments? I think it's about an odd couple, that everyone made fun of. All the brutality they had to endure. Then one of them did something wrong - went back on the ideals or kissed someone else, whatever. Hence the 'you said you're sorry.' |
|
| Lovedrug – Pandamoranda Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I don't know...I doubt it's actually what the song means, but it reminds me of either a. the American Dream or b. immigrants coming into the country. You know, Am. Dream was to become sucessful, etc. and immigrants had this glorious idea of America only to be tarnished by businesses not hiring them. | |
| The Early November – Something That Produces Results Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
God, I love this album - I love how all the tracks flow into eachother. I don't know really what the song means...I think it's about a girl who has 'issues' so to speak, and a guys outside opinion on her, that watches from afar. Like, a friend maybe? Since then he has the sleeping part...it could be a friend viewpoint on a friend (girl) and what she's doing to make ends meet. |
|
| Hawthorne Heights – Until Her Heart Stops Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
the lyrics might not be right, so correct me if they aren't. I'm terrible at doing lyrics by ear, but I couldn't believe these weren't up. Such a good song - one of my favorite HH songs. I definitely think it's about breaking up, getting together, breaking up again, and then getting back together. He's getting confused and sick of the cycle, because eachtime it ends up hurting them both. |
|
| Hawthorne Heights – Ohio Is for Lovers Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
where have these guys been? in ohio! haha and due, as for finally a good band from ohio...you don't know you're music. we might be f'in lame, but have you never heard of Braniac or Enon? Guided By Voices used to be good, like their stuff from 20 years ago, haha. There was another good band from OH, and I can't think of who they are...I think they just broke mainstream or something too. haha, I love these guys... |
|
| Audioslave – Be Yourself Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
ok, after three years - wow. I've heard people say they don't like this song, but how can you NOT? I personally love this song. Maybe I'm just so excited to hear the guys again (I heard it this morning for the first time in study hall and actually got up, jumping, and dancing around, happy that the album will drop May/June, tentative date May 17th). I seriously love the song. Maybe that's just me - I like the mellow stuff like Getaway Car more than Hypnotize. The message I think is obvious - no matter what you do, if you don't act how you want to and do what you want to, it'll backfire in one way or another, leaving you miserable. God, I adore Cornell's writing ability and Morello is a guitar GOD. |

| Elliott Smith – A Fond Farewell Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Wow...this whole album is great. Elliott...WHY?!!! |
|
| Elliott Smith – Twilight (Somebody's Baby) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| Such a good song - I think the meaning is there, even though I feel ignorant saying that. It's about two people, already being in other relationships, but finding eachother refreshing and considering the possiblity of being together, yet knowing it's wrong and finding reasons to deny themselves' of it. | |
| Snow Patrol – Run Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Oh yeah, I love the song. I thought it was about someone dying too, but I can see about the long-distance relationship thing in there, it could definitely work. My favorite part is "to think I might not see those eyes, makes it so hard not to cry, and as we said our long goodbyes, I nearly did." I really do not think that it is about drugs, at all - I seriously don't think he was hiding the 'real' meaning for publicity. But ya know, it's music, and it's meant to be interpreted in many different ways. Whatever you get out of it is what you get, and it's yours, no matter what. So, go for it. |
|
| Elliott Smith – Don't Go Down Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
the music is kinda un-elliott smith-like, I guess I'm just used to the more acoustic sound, but man...the lyrics are so creepy and good. I think it's kind of self-explanatory - an older guy craddle-robbing, making the girl think he loves her when he really is just abusive and all, and realises that he could kill her with his temperment, but everytime she thinks about it, he tells her that he loves her. |
|
| Future Leaders of the World – Let Me Out Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
"exploding corporatus that's here right now." "Are we all just rats in a maze made to lose, no I'm not..." Awesome song, love the band. I like his voice...don't know, it's kinda got a Kurt Cobain-esque raspy scream in it. |
|
| Home Town Hero – Bed Of Dreams Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| This is one of my fav. HTH songs. It's such a soothing song...when I've had a bad day and just want to sleep I can put this track on and it's got this awsome comforting feel to it. It makes me fall asleep with some sort of hope and so peaceful. I REALLY want to see them live...I was so upset last year I couldn't see incubus/HTH together...I was the very last venue date w/ 30 Seconds to Mars before HTH was picked up...someday I will see these guys, someday. | |
| Home Town Hero – Saturday Morning Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| How does Aaron sound like Brandon? I don't hear it (incubus/HTH being my favorite bands). I love this song...HTH songs are always open for opinion, they never seem to be set on one thing. I love it...awsome band. Can't wait for the next album...it's gotta kick butt. | |
| Chris Cornell – Flutter Girl Lyrics | 22 years ago |
|
I agree with both of ya. But I also think it could be about young girls getting involved with older men. Just the part of them living/knowing certain things better, expecting more, and just the whole My hands are rough My fingers cold and your heart so young and so naive to ever feel for a moment that I might let you believe I don't know...when I heard that, the hands being rough and cold make it sound like him being older, and the "your heart so young and naive..." being that young girls have very tender hearts, they haven't been hurt so much or know what to expect. Then the "You'll become a fool for the words I speak" in the beginning being the fact older guys can talk a young girl who doesn't know into anything...idk, my interp. |
|
| Chris Cornell – Can't Change Me Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| Pretty much I think its what you've all said. It's about a girl that can do everything, succeeded at everything. The "power to change what she thinks is wrong - what could she want with me?" So, obviously he doesn't want to be changed unless he sees the fault, not what someone else does, no matter how great they are. | |
| Phantom Planet – Lonely Day Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| I love this song...haha. The whole "rub the sleep out of my eyes" and getting out of bed reminds me I have to go to school...have you ever had days when you wake up and just know it's gonna be a **** day? This is the first song I put in my CD player when I wake up...it's like "Yes! someone feels the same I do!" | |
| The Clash – Rock the Casbah Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| Rock the Casbah is awsome. I dun know what disco's talking about. I have to agree, some of their later stuff I don't like because its too..."soft" maybe from what they originally started out with? But Rock the Casbah was written with thought. Come on, even if the Clash might've not been as great towards the end as when they started out, they're still a million times better then the bands out there today, who have already hit a downward spiral with their second single. Rock the Casbah is good. | |
| The Clash – Train in Vain Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| The Clash are the coolest band. How many bands can hit all the musical genres they do and not look like idiots? They can be political fighters and still have the heartbreak songs and not look like saps...The Clash were awsome. | |
| Hot Hot Heat – No, Not Now Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| Gr, my previous comment didn't post. Oh well, Hot Hot Heat rocks the casbah, period. They're awsome and its great their starting to get noticed - they completely deserve it and can kick out the other crappy bands. I really want to see these guys live... | |
| Hot Hot Heat – No, Not Now Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| No ones posted about this song? Fine, I will. Still an awsome song - Hot Hot Heat just rocks the casbah. I'd love to these these guys live...I'm so glad their finally starting to get slight media attention - they so deserve it, kick some other bands out. | |

| Cheap Trick – I Want You To Want Me Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| OK, who originally wrote this song? Because I heard The Clash sing it first so I was like "OK, they wrote it." Then I heard Letters to Cleo do it...and just today I got the Cheap Trick CD (its a double disc, Silver) and they sing it. So, did Cheap Trick do it originally? I have no clue when this band was around as I just got the CD from the library... | |
