Beautiful, amazing song that should be better known. When III came out Zep got a lot of guff for having too much light music... I guess the critics forgot the acoustics on I and II. Point is, this is an amazing song. It definately deserves more radio play... |

I agree with helloguy here... while it's true that some zeppelin songs are clearly about/have references to Lord of the Rings, this doesn't mean that they all have to. I won't deny that Ramble On is at least somewhat about lotr. But does every zep song have to be? This is not just a comment about this song... while I'm sure there are some songs that have references that I just don't understand, every song doesn't have to be a tolkein reference. |

This song was originally going to be an instrumental, but then Robert came up with these lyrics. He says that someone pushed the pen for him. I think it's all about living together... but the lyrics can have many interpretations. They're incredible. |

According to Hendrix, this song all revolves around the "whatever it is that girl put a spell on me" line, and it all grew from there. He said that it's about a girl who "turned some cat on", not about drugs. Why would hendrix give a damn if someone knew it was about drugs? Same argument goes for lucy in the sky with diamonds (beatles)... there's no reason why lennon would have cared if people knew it was about drugs.
And willy wallace... you're an idiot. I put hendrix at one, but that's me, you can have your oppinions. But, you're an ignorant moron if you say that the only good song page had was the solo in stairway... can you name any other song by zeppelin? From the bow solo in dazed and confused to his insane riffs in both zeppelin and the yardbirds to his early session guitaring to being in them, this guy was incredible. Hell, give the rest of IV a listen and you'll figure it out. Don't criticize what you don't know anything about. Yeah page could play for speed, but he didn't always. Zep had a lot of powerful acoustic tracks too. That's the way, going to california, thank you.... page was a master. Not better than hendrix, but a master.

I agree mostly with what everyone here is saying. It is basically conveying the whole beatles message. Reminds me a lot of The Word- the word is love. It's all that matters in the end. Speaking of in the end, the love you take is equal to the love that you make. That's what I get from all of this. Same with the everybody and all together now parts.
