It could be the hypocricy of people who claim to be say a Christian and press their views on everyone, but in the end are even worse off than a non-believer. "Assurance is what they need" and "The cleverest acting was the lying by you" may support this interpretation. Just a guess. |

I wish that the chorus of this song held the more catchy guitar riff found in the beginning of the song. Like right after he finishes a line on the chorus and there is a slight pause I think it would be enhanced greatly to hear that opening riff / the riff that plays after the chorus. Does anyone else agree? Great song though. |

This is my favorite song so far on Vena Sera. What I think is cool is that he is "Crawling back to sea AGAINST a surge of waves that held us" yet it is still safer waters. A battle wrestling with the waves, but still a safe haven compared to society. Nice. |

I'm a little confused about the line "treated indegenously, digenously" beacuse indegenously means relating naturally to an environment where digenously though very similar spelling is not even a real word (with the ously) but degenous means to be sexually reproductive. So the literal meanirng would be to be treated as a naturally occuring sexually reproductive organism . . . Any hidden meaning there? |

Tiananmen Square does refer to the 1989 incident in Bejing, but when I heard the part "Was fashion the reason why they were there?" I thought it meant like so many students where there protesting because there was so much publicity and so many students that they were just doing it more of a fashion statement than actually standing up to their rights. |

If you break it down completely then it may appear so, but we have them for reasons to protect people like you who don't give a fuck about their country. I don't want to fight wars, I don't agree with everything. And one more thing. The president of course is not going to send his own family. The military works on a complete volunteer basis. All the people that are in the military chose to do so. They may regret it now, but they definately chose to do so. Bush is considered the highest ranking official in the US Military, of course he is not on the front lines firing an M16. Nor are generals and other high ranking officers. They do the planning and oversee strategy and the workings of the US Military as a whole. |

First of all "He who has nothing to die for has nothing to live for". As an active duty United States Marine, I signed up because I do have something to live for which is why I am willing to die for it. All this b/s you guys are saying about a draft etc. is ignorant because their is no draft, its been completely volunteer since Vietnam. I very well agree with "The Piece" on his comments. A lot of people don't even read into politics and they say "fuck the war" "fuck the president" only because thats what they hear from everyone else and they see the 10 minutes of bad clips on the news. The News doesn't show all of the good our troops are doing in the desert. We are helping civilians, we are establishing Iraq to be self sufficient on their own and we are also protecting YOUR freedom. So you can kick back in the states, work 9 - 5, smoke pot and not really get introuble and benefit the human race by making food and other entertainment products, cause fuck yeah I'd be living it up if I was a civilian, but I'm not im a United States Marine and I protect your freedom so you don't have too. I don't completely agree with the entire message of the song, though I like it a lot - its catchy, and its System of a Down at their best. I don't want to be at war right now, but no I don' t completely disagree with it. |

A song is not necessarily intended to have a direct meaning, it may mean something direct to the artist, but its not wrong to say what it reminds you of, what it means to you etc., a lot of flaws songs are written in almost full sentences so line by line interpretation is easy, but I think the song as a whole is left up to the listener to decide |

Definately a masterpeice. My current favorite on the new CD, I keep getting addicted to new songs on their albums. Again, when each stanza is read it is a straight forward meaning, however, it is hard to interpret the song as a whole as in like a generalized meaning. |

Damn I can't believe there are no comments on this song . . . This is probably my favorite song on "Endagered Species". This song is pretty general . . . It represents probably a lot of the confusion and shit found in most people. The lyrics are so simply, yet so well put, its actually kind of hard to give a direct meaning because its pretty straight forward. VERY awesome song. |
