Coldplay – How You See the World No. 2 Lyrics 20 years ago
That song is different from the first version (lyrics and musical arrangements). It was recorded on September 8th, 2005 for an album called "Help: A Day In The Life". That day, Coldplay was one of 20 british bands to help raise money for young people struggling in war-inflicted countries (other artists included Kean, Radiohead, Damien Rice, Bloc Party, Gorillaz and Kaiser Chiefs, to name a few). The album was made available online 36 hours later.

And of course, the new lyrics are very appropriate. Such a profound, universal song!

It just makes me think of the kiss between Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair in Cruel Intentions...... :)

Robbie Williams – Something Stupid Lyrics 23 years ago
The lyrics for this romantic, soft and delightful song were not so classic when Frank Sinatra first sang them. But with Robbie Williams and Nicole Kidman's own version, they strike the modern ears and are without a doubt one of the most romantic ones ever heard by people since it got released.

Basically, it says: "Oh no, I did it again: I love you!"

Savage Garden – The Animal Song Lyrics 23 years ago
I didn't see the movie, nor the clip, but the song just delights me. It's about freedom, freeing yourself from the downs and standards of society. Be yourself, live on, sing and love! (However, the song gets corny after a while, without loosing its light tone)

A good song to put in a teenage-romance-college comedy.

The first time I head that song was on TV: music used for Jamie Sale & David Pelletier's routine for pairs figure skating competition... and I agree, this song is awesome. Sexy.

Bruce Springsteen – Streets of Philadelphia Lyrics 23 years ago
It is about HIV and how much you suffer from it.
But the song can lead to any personal interpretation. I can relate it to a time in my life, where I walked in streets, at night, after a party, feeling lost and lonely and cold, tired and deeply sad.

Deep deep song. No wonder it won four Grammies (including Best Song of the Year) and Academy Award for Best Song, Philadelphia.

Eric Clapton – River Of Tears Lyrics 23 years ago
River of Tears is one the deepest song there is about a break up. Depressingly uplifting. The most tear-jerking part of the song is when the soft violins introduce the words: I wish that I could hold you... One more time to ease the pain. It expresses the feelings you have when you break up with someone. Beautiful.

Pet Shop Boys – Being Boring Lyrics 23 years ago
"This song is about the ideals that you have when you're young, and how they turn out." If you watch the clip (which is one of my favorites), you feel sad because you remember those times where all you cared about was having fun with your friends. This song is also about nostalgy, souvenirs, looking back to the past, and realizing you've become "the creature" you've always meant to be. The song is not depressing, it's beautifully sad and profound. Listen to it, and you'll remember your friends, your family members, your early loves, those people you'll never see again, and that you'll truly never forget. One of the best of 90's.

I have to agree, this is one kind of song you hear during summertime, and that just makes you feel free and happy.
