its true that his mother drowned his brother in the bathtub when he was little. if you listen to the song "an attempt to tip the scale" there is an interview and the interviewer brings up the "babies in bathtubs" theme and conor says: "well i did have a brother that died in a bathtub, actually i had five. no im serious, my mother drowned one every year for five consecutive years and they were all named padraic." its pretty obvious what this song is about.
