| Regina Spektor – Small Town Moon Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this is such a beautiful song. she played it tonight and it seriously was so incredible. i'm not sure about the whol "everybody's not so nice" part... but the rest reminds me of getting out of a small town to go to a bigger city. it's scary to leave everything you know behind, especially when you're from a small town. i am and when i left it felt like i was leaving my own little world and rejoining with the rest of the world. those people were like family to me, knew me from birth... i suppose you could say they had a part in making me who i am. i don't know if that's way off...but it's a thought. anyone care to add?? | |
| Elliott Smith – The Biggest Lie Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| firstly, can i just say that not every elliott writes is about drugs. it gets old when people say that about every song... i'm thinking he had a little more depth than that. we're not living in the 60's people. anyway, i didn't come here to bitch. i just thought when i listened to the song, i didn't feel like he was saying "everything that you do makes me want to die" literally. death can also be referred to as a release. it seems like the person he's referring to, in her actions, overwhelms him to a point where he doesn't know what to do. he seems to say it in a sort of admiration, not distaste. i don't know. i could be way off.. but that's my two cents. | |
| The Reindeer Section – Raindrop Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| it kind of reminds me of my friend's relationship. she just started dating this guy and they both really like each other but he's going away on tour with his band so for awwhile it was always in the back of their minds that they would eventually be done. but now, they're just living for the moment. taking everything as it comes and not worrying about the future or what's going to happen, just enjoying each others company and having a blast while they can. and that's the first thing i thought of when i heard this song | |
| Sigur Rós – Starálfur Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| i love this song so much.. and honestly when i listen to it, it doesn't matter what language it's in. it's like sigur ros transcends language barriers.. you make the song what you want it to be. and i think it's much more personal in that sense. | |
| Rilo Kiley – Rest of My Life Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| to me, this song is about friends who are secretly in love but never let it go further than that. they are so much alike and would basically be perfect together in another time or place where both of them were free. so basically, jenny will, for the rest of her life, compare every man she meets to him, weighing them out to see if they can match up to him. | |
| Modest Mouse – Float On Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| this is an awesome song.. it always puts me in a good mood... know what puts me in a bad mood though? people trying to be elitests to the kids who had never heard of modest mouse before this song. who gives a flying fuck?! it's a good song... and wouldn't you rather have people calling into radio stations requesting "Float On" than some Britney Spears crap that can't really even be classified as music? i know that i sure do. and where do you think fans come from? they don't all just magically appear when a band puts out an ep or a demo or something. they build with time. and i think it's awesome that modest mouse's already large fan following is growing to be even larger. i think it's awesome that people have gotten a different glimpse of MM seeing as this is a different kind of track from them. but i see it as a window of opportunity...when someone asks me about the song i tell them how awesome their older stuff is... and voila... one more fan is born... and is that really such a bad thing? i didn't think so. | |
| Dashboard Confessional – Vindicated Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| just because someone does something for a soundtrack why does that mean that they're selling out?... the hives had a song on the last soundtrack and you don't see their faces plastered up on billboards do you? they still kick as much ass as before they were on the soundtrack. i think it's awesome that people will be able to hear dashboard... i mean if they like this song maybe they'll be opened up to the whole other world of dc music including the stuff he did when he was a solo act (which was a little more raw...i absolutely love it). it's okay people... it's just a soundtrack... i'm sure we'll all recover. .....ps... kgc1188...who the hell is nick?... i think yer confused bud... dashboard's writer is named uh.. chris. thanks fer comin out though | |
| Bright Eyes – An Interview with Conor Oberst Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| who is the areanette person that the radio guy asks conor about? i really feel lost or that i'm missing something essential out of this....i thought this was hilarious by the way | |
| Incubus – Here In My Room Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| what's wrong with a song about sex? as long as it's done tactfully, i think that it's fine. maybe there is no deeper meaning to it. maybe it is just about two people finding each other and making their night a little better. brandon makes it seem like this picturesque journey that he takes part in... it's beautiful and perfectly worded. the song everlong by the foo fighters is in the same kind of realm as this one and everyone tried to disect it and make it out to be this big complicated deal. but when someone asked lead singer dave grohl what it was about, he said it was plainly about sex...just put into nicer terms. sex doesn't have to be this shallow, hormone driven array of words, it can be almost heavenly sounding... which is the case with this song. | |
| The Used – Blue And Yellow Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
it's really hard to put what you think on here sometimes. you think that you have this really original idea and rush to stick it on here and realize that about 50 other people have had the exact same amazing original idea... anyway...this time is not one of those times oddly enough. everyone says that it's about love... and it might be in a sense... who knows. but as soon as i heard the lyrics, it kinda made me think of jealousy. and i'm not exactly sure why. the first little thing, though, was the title. blue and yellow. blue and yellow mixed together makes green which is the color most commonly used to describe jealousy or jealous feelings. and also the verse kinda describes what it feels like: it's all in how you mix the two (i'm thinkin it's talking about the colors) and it starts just where the light exists (jealousy is one of the darker emotions and feelings we experience. they're not one of those ones that we share openly...it's usually hidden in our deepest thoughts where no one can see it) it's a feeling that you can not miss (no one can miss jealousy... sometimes it grows so big that it drives us insane) and it burns a hole through everyone that feels it (it makes us feel little and eats away at us) and as for the chorus bit and stuff... who knows...maybe it is about a relationship and the jealousy part was based on the rumors of infidelity or something... i guess my guess is as good as anyone elses:) later days. |

| Eve 6 – Think Twice Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| to me this song seems to be about unrequited love. he's crazy about this girl that doesn't love him back and even though they're not together or dating or anything, he still thinks of her as"his girl". when he's talking about seeing that guy that she's with at a party or wherever it was, he can't even really get mad because she's not his to claim. i think that's why he puts on this show of happiness that isn't real at all. i think when he says that she spreads her love it doesn't mean it literally, like that she's sleeping around with everyone, but more like she's an amazing person who is really kind and awesome and just makes everyone fall in love with her. but... that's just my thoughts on it... hope it helped even a little. love eve 6... july 22nd is the big day!!! l8er days | |
| Ramones – I Just Want To Have Something To Do Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| it's like the ballad of the weekend for teenagers everywhere.. it's awesome | |
| New Found Glory – Singled Out Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
hey guys and gals, this is probably one of my favorite nfg songs because it was the first one I ever heard by them and it brings back some good memories. But yeah I heard that it wasn't about the whole Midtown/ Drive-thru issue. NFG and Dashboard Confessional (when it was a band not just Chris Carruba) were good pals before they got famous and they said that whoever got a deal first would help the other one get one too. And as it just so happens, Dashboard got one first but didn't help NFG or something like that. Which is where the lyrics "what will you do when there's no one to fall back on? i wont be there i've learned my lesson what will you do when there's no friends to fall back on? because they've all been stepped on" come from. I didn't really understand it till I realized this but yeah... hope it helps... L8er days |
