| Jewel – Love Me, Just Leave Me Alone Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| This song shares sentiments similar to those in "Don't"--it's about trying to fall out of love. | |
| Jewel – Flower Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I love this song and I wish Jewel would put it on a cd. It's about a woman who love a man so much that she limits her own world in order to stay with him. "She dreams of the country," she's "always known, that there's something more" and yet she stays in the city and manages to remain "content". | |
| Jewel – Deep Water Lyrics | 23 years ago |
|
"Drowning in deep water and you're bailing yourself out with a straw"--being helplessly stuck in a bad situation against your will ("your hopes in the sky but your heart like grape gum on the ground") with little means to escape "Wake up making love to a wall"--realizing that you're alone and without someone to love "Well it's these little times that help to remind it's nothing without love"--of course, Jewel is expressing the importance of love but her words may also be laced with the irony of the situation. Your bad situation serves to reminder you that not only are you down and out but you're also without love. I get the feeling that there is more plot to this song than can be directly interpreted by the lyrics. Perhaps it's about someone who broke up with a boyfriend or girlfriend only to realize that it was a bad decision. |

| Jewel – Amen Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| This is my favorite Jewel song. It's about questioning religion so I think it's interesting that it follows "Angel Standing By" on the cd. | |
