| Colony 5 – Band of Brothers Lyrics | 18 years ago |

This song seems to obviously have been inspired by or at least share a common inspiration source with the HBO's 10-part series of same name, Band of Brothers. The series is about World War II, especially the Battle of Normandy, in 1944, which fits well within the song's lyrics - mentioning parachutes, artillery and all. The song may either be about the D-Day (June 6, 1944) itself, or about Operation Market Garden (which was an allied plan to end the war by Christmas 1944 but was a failure), or both. The "night of nights" was of course the d-day; but "to end the fight of fights" (WWII) was Market Garden's goal, and the "last resistance" would be the German troops over the Rhine river bridges which were of high strategic value. Anyway, besides the military theme, I just love the opening lines "we few, we happy few, we band of brothers", from Shakespeare's Hanry V, as they remind me of the importance of having solid friendships on which you can count, and of when Henry V says in his speech, "for he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother". The melody is also great and fits perfectly with the lyrics. That's it! |

| Elton John – Sacrifice Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| It is a very good song, but I'm still trying to understand it. "It's no sacrifice, just a simple word, two hearts living in separate worlds, but no sacrifice at all". I think it may be silly I didn't get it, but what actually is that 'simple word'? | |

I love the ambiguous way the verses "I sense the pounding of her heart / Next to mine / She's the sweetest love I could find" sound. "Next to mine" may mean both "next to my heart" and "next to my love". Amazing! |

| Duran Duran – Come Undone Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I think it's about some kind of wild love, which destroys them both and though they try to break apart they can't because it's so strong. "Coming undone" meaning to break ties. | |
