And now for my interpretation. I don't think this song is sinister at all. I imagine he is actually saying these words to a person that he loves. It's about overprotection, and he's trying to convince this other person (a girl for example) that he is holding her back and that she has to live her own life, draw her own conclusions, take responsibility of her own actions, etc.. He is tired of running her errands and that explains the darker tone in the end of the conversation. In a way he is telling her what will happen if nothing changes. |

This is one powerful song. I actually got tears in my eyes while listening to this once. Especially when I sing along to the lyrics I get this weird emotional kick. It's like tears flowing through my body but at the same time I feel strong. |
